My favorite childhood memory is getting 8 full hours of sleep. What's yours?
Spending entire days at the public pool in 100-degree heat.
Not having to worry about bills or cleaning.
Meals with my aunts and grandparents. Summer days with my friends that never ended
Vacations with my family.
Playing baseball with the neighborhood kids. We would play several games a day.
Spending time with my dad...
My favorite childhood memories are of times my Mom pretended she couldn’t find my nose. I have a small nose and she made it a funny game.
Parking by the airport with sandwiches and watching planes arrive and depart. We didn’t have money for expensive activities. I loved watching the planes!
I have two. One is any time I got to spend the day with my sister (11 years older than me), just talking and laughing about school or whatever. The other is when my dad would take me to the park and hit baseballs to me. The skills he helped develop in me laid the foundation for much of the good things that have happened in my life.
My first ride in a motorcycle sidecar, at age five. Lots of others, especially involving girls, camping, and aircraft, but that’s the first one that comes to mind.
My grandparents still alive and healthy.
My favorite memory is sitting in church on a glorious summer Sunday morning and all the huge windows were open with a breeze coming thru. It was a gorgeous day. It comes to mind over and over again thru all these years.
Summers off the coast of RI.
My cat Fred. He was my buddy. Bonus that he didn’t resist at all when I’d dress him in my cabbage patch kid clothes. Bonnets and all.
Traveling with my family
The almost cultish crushes I had on classmates (before puberty, non sexual but fun).
Probably sun tea in the summer and playing in the yard all day with my sister and the dog. #80sKid
Playing with my grandfather and my father.
