In view of the Democrats rush to support late term abortion, for which there is no medical indication and which even many pro choice oppose, do you think that 2020 could be the abortion election?

Ebola, you’re in the medical field, right? I’m a little curious, can a Dr. refuse an abortion based on religious beliefs? I mean, you’d think the Hippocratic Oath would apply, but I’m not so sure nowadays....

A doctor can refuse to perform an abortion for any or no reason at all.

The old Hippocratic Oath has been changed to a more “modern” version which doesn’t include the clause not to cause an abortion.

That’s a relief. I would hate for someone to try to sue a doctor to perform an abortion......but now that I’ve opened up that can of worms........

No. Immigration reform will be the main issue. I think abortion will be quite a ways down the list.

Every election has abortion as an issue.

Yes but in view of the Democrats increasingly radical views I wonder if this election might be even more so.

If a candidate tries to make it an “abortion election” (either pro-choice OR pro-life), they have lost my vote. It’s a dead topic to me - there are so many more issues to deal with for people that are already living.
I don’t care how anyone thinks on the topic - I want to have a clear path forward with a person that can tell the truth and restore the US to being a country others can look to for leadership once again.
For all of you who are so wrapped up in abortion that you can’t see the forest for the trees, get over it. Just state that you disagree that Cuomo and others’ opinions, and drop it.
Legal or illegal, abortion happens - and losing your mind and vote over it gains no one anything in the long run.
.
Ok - I’m off my rant. Thx for listening.

Thanks for your comments. I just wondered what others thought about it.

It seems to be coming more and more into the news, so I wouldn’t be surprised if this election is more focused on abortion than prior ones, especially with Northam’s recent comments.

Dems are having a serious identity crisis.

They don’t have a damn clue what they’re doing. It’s just going to be a battle to see who can be most radical for the 2020 race...and the person who’s most intersectional.

Dems gotta stop painting pro-life as a anti-women’s rights movement. Many far left women are misinformed and lost and it’s really sad because they are getting pregnant at 15 then aborting, but they don’t learn from their first pregnancy not to have unprotected sex and shows up again at 17. “ClUmP oF cElLs” is an excuse for their own guilt to make themselves feel better about kill a baby. You are not morally in the right place if you are selfish and stubborn enough to kill your own flesh and blood that many couples dream of having and just wasting a gift given to you by having a doctor rip each part of the baby out limb by limb.
I wasn’t really a strong supporter of pro choice a year ago, but then I was exposed to a bunch of “failed abortion” stories and how the child either suffered significantly and long or the mother changed and the baby was delivered but with severe defects. You shouldn’t kill babies, especially in states where criminals are given lesser sentences than unborn babies

I think it’s very possible that abortion could become the defining issue in the 2020 election if the Democrats don’t abandon their support of late term abortion and infanticide.

I think the same. If the Dems don't take a stance against abortion until right before or after birth which is infanticide they *will* lose 2020 by a landslide. Even so called pro choicers mainly reject this.

Gawd, I hope not. Abortion is the political topic I have the least interest in.

That said, this move by NY is likely to help Trump and many other who run as Republicans. I just hope it’s not all we hear about. I’m far, far, far more concerned with immigration, the economy, foreign relations, and whether or not we’re going to end up in war with anyone than I am with what some whack job in one of the two biggest leftist bastions in the nation does.

Appreciate the comment but many people take the termination of the lives of viable infants very seriously.

I’m okay with state laws. In fact, I prefer the states, rather than the Fed government, handle most everything... even if some states come up with outlandish crap now and then. So, IMO, this fight is for New Yorkers. It’s not what the other states or the President need to concern themselves with. The President, in particular, has much bigger fish to fry than trying to control NY which, again, is not something I believe the Fed government should do. I’m for a smaller Fed gov, not a larger one.

Oh, but I just had a thought. Let the next Dem Presidential candidate hold the same views as NY. If that happens, Trump wins without question. Of course, I think he’s going to win either way anyway. But, that would guarantee it....unless the Dems steal the election, of course, and that does seem to be one of their new tactics.... another thing I’m more concerned about than what the state of NY does.
