If the Groundhog saw his shadow, and we get an early spring, does that mean South America and Australia get an early winter?

Australia is breaking a lot of heat records (it's summer there), despite the global warming that, according to some politicians, isn’t happening. They'd probably welcome the relief of winter about now.
