What’s the danger? Depression? Ebola? Asteroid collision?

A gun; however, there is no reason a person would need a military-grade machine gun. At all.

No one has military grade machine guns. AR15s are semi auto not automatic.

I just don’t think anything that can spit out streams of bullets should be available to the public.

Pistols or hand guns or hunting rifles— fine.

That's basically all guns. Even the "evil" AR15 is a semi auto rifle. Bullets come out of that rifle at the same rate as your average handgun. One bullet per trigger pull.

From the Wikipedia article about the Newtown shooting:

“Shortly after 9:35 a.m., using his mother's Bushmaster XM15-E2S rifle and ten magazines with 30 rounds each, Lanza shot his way through a glass panel next to the locked front entrance doors of the school...”

Please tell me why a person would need such a gun? Why was this crazy person’s mother (of all people) qualifies to own such a weapon? I’m saying something needs to be done with the gun laws in this country. I’m not a gun expert by any stretch, so I’m not qualified to make a suggestion. I’m thinking rifles for hunting and pistols (or something of the like) for self defense.

My opinion can be swayed, but not by too much.

Another beach ball toss for the gun nuts to salivate over.
Better question: in a dangerous situation, would you prefer a perp to have several guns or no guns?

Guns are a dangerous situation.

Believe it or not, they are designed that way.
