Although I disagree with an AG picking laws to prosecute, i understand what she is trying to do. Baltimore has a major violent crime problem and a major police problem. She is just about the only one right now trying to do anything about it by trying to force the police’s hand into not focusing on non-violent charges and putting those resources more focused on the dangerous criminals.

Government should not regulate buying a plant.

This is a nation of laws. The people we elect to enforce those laws have only that job. They are not qualified or wanted to interpret the laws as just or unjust. We have judges and voters for that. What if a cop decides not to prosecute a murderer because he honestly seemed like he didn’t do it even if there’s enough evidence to charge him? Or what if a DA decided to prosecute people for smoking weed in a place where it was legalized but he disagreed with that decision? It’s a dangerous precedent to set to allow executives to act like legislators, voters, or judges. This is coming from someone who is completely in favor of weed legalization. But I want it done right. Through courts or voters, not through people we elected (or didn’t elect) to do a completely different job. And I think most people voting that they think this is a good thing only vote so because they believe in legalization. Ask them if they think people enforcing laws should do so based on opinion and see the results.

Wrong, you are. Cops and prosecutors make these very decisions every day.

No they don’t. They decide whether or not they have enough evidence to charge people with a crime. They don’t decide whether or not something is a crime

As long as it's still illegal the law should be enforced. One individual, especially one in power should never decide to disregard or pick & choose for the people. Change the law if you don't like it.

Mosby reminds me of James Earl Jones playing Thulsa Doom in Conan.

Why is this poll at zero?
Upvote bias people?

Although I agree with OP on this, i do not think it's the right of this branch of government to decide what they will and will not enforce.

Time and money are finite resources. I would rather jail one child molester than 100 pot smokers. Put energy into matters that most affects public safety.
