Hypothetical (obviously): Just as everyone is expected to do jury duty, everyone now is expected to act as executioner for the condemned, no matter the method. Refusal to comply results in prison for contempt of court. What do you do?
If there was no doubt as to guilt and the laws for the death penalty were set to where it was used for few and specific crimes including murder and sexual crimes, I would be very happy to fulfill my duty.
Yeah I don’t think I’d have *too* much trouble with it.
Maybe I could start a business for those who can’t. For a few hundred I’ll take their place and off the criminals for them.
I doubt that I could do it.
I’d do the time if I had problems with the case...my own moral judgement would prevail. In an extraordinary case (like the death penalty should be used for), I could do it.
Give me the syringe, I’ll inject them.
I wouldn’t do it.
What if it was someone like John Gacy where 17 or so bodies were found under his own home and he confesses? Does that alter your ability to do it or not? I’m not judging or picking a fight, I’m just curious. My own answer is.....I still don’t know if I could.
I can do it but how is the execution performed? Is it a hanging, gas chamber, firing squad, or lethal injection?
Doesn’t a lethal injection have to be performed by someone with medical experience since they are using a syringe?
I think you are right but paramedics can do the job in most states.
Guess I go to prison then
I'll be joining you.
We’ll all keep each other company. 😺
What if it was someone like John Gacy where 17 or so bodies were found under his own home and he confesses? Does that alter your ability to do it or not? What if it was that same type of person as Gacy but the victims were elementary age children?
There was no indication that any neighbors/family/friends knew anything about Gacy’s proclivities. Shooting him after the discovery does not support your POV, RT.
RT I say lock em up. Killing someone doesn’t detour anyone and doesn’t make the case that murder is wrong.
I can do it with ease. I acknowledge how sad and messed up it is, but it’s just in my nature I guess.
Get out of town fast.
No way I could do it.
