I live in a Democratic controlled state.
I receive petitions to get Vote ID passed.
I tell them Dems will never, ever do it!

Proof? There’s none. He, like the president, saw a big flashy number, didn’t bother to read what it was actually about (or purposefully misrepresented it) and screamed “voter fraud” for a big flashy headline.

It’s like steroids in many pro sports. Most are cheating at various degrees because the power/money is substantial and most can justify this action as a logical response to the other side cheating.

I have no doubt that Democratic politicians here in California absolutely cheated and stole several seats from Republicans who were winning the night of the election. Look out for Democrats, they will stop at nothing to win, and they will manipulate the 2020 elections with the same tactics.

So what makes you think it's democrats who are cheating in Texas? This state isn't controlled by democrats...

“the announcement made late Friday afternoon was unsubstantiated, unchecked and not ready for primetime in meaningful ways.”

I suppose that also goes for all of the other announcements about illegal voting.

Last I checked the governor is refusing to share the data with state legislators so they can see it for themselves. So until then, yes virtually.. even if every single person they had registered voted in 2016 which they said didn't happen. It's less than 0.5% of voter turnout

And Texas officials are starting to walk back the claims of voter fraud. The information they are using is deeply flawed.

Dela ... is there voter fraud? Should we focus resources on eliminating it?

Think, don't know if we aren't allowed to see the data

Jo ... answer the question! Based on what you know — from this case and others! Attempts at feigning ignorance don’t reflect well on YOU!

Yes, but first we need to know what’s happening. Florida did a similar match of election records to noncitizen residents. The first round found about 200,000 matches. However almost all of those were either mismatched names or people who became citizens before they voted.

Of the original nearly 200,000 matches Florida found 85 noncitizens on the voter rolls. They don’t say how many of those 85, if any, voted.

Dela ... how many illegal aliens should vote?

Think, none. But numbers matter.

Think what do I know if I'm not allowed to see the data? Only the narrative that an asshole governor wants me know. Sorry if I like to think for myself

Usually it’s those alleging that fraud never happens that won’t turn over the data.

Jo ... I shared an example of voter fraud. answer the question! Does voter fraud happen? If so, should we address it?

Dela ... does voter fraud happen?

LFB ... does voter fraud happen?

delaluna
02/01/19 12:02 pm

Think. Yes voter fraud happens. But it is rare. But the Texas numbers are unknown. The people claiming massive fraud are walking back the numbers and won’t provide supporting data.
Numbers matter.

Think Lovin Life
02/01/19 12:04 pm

Dela ... if it happens, then voter fraud should be addressed. The lack of reported doesn’t mean that it’s rare. You simply can’t prove your assertion!

This thread seems to be operating under the assumption that all those people were from the same year, when in fact they were flagged instances taking place over a span of ~22 years.

Think Lovin Life

Goo ... does voter fraud happen?

WorstGooEver Nuke the Hurricanes
02/01/19 2:02 pm

Of course, just not anywhere close to what the alarmists would like people to believe.

Think Lovin Life
02/01/19 2:04 pm

Goo ... what appropriate actions should be taken to secure the vote?

handsyjo
02/01/19 6:35 pm

Think to which point should we address it? Should we do everything possible to make sure that not 1 single vote is cast illegally even if that means 100,000 legal voters are now unable to vote?

One wonders how verifying citizenship or *gasp* IDs would prevent actual citizens from voting. Outside of liberal fantasies, that is.

By the way, you do realize that Gov Brown of CA signed a motor voter law that just registered literally millions of illegal aliens. And we’re supposed to believe that they aren’t voting because of ... the honor code?

handsyjo
02/01/19 6:46 pm

That's fake news that's been debunked over and over... Just because they got a driver's license did not register them to vote.

The supreme Court over turned texas's voter ID law because it literally effected 500,000 eligible voters... I guess that's just a liberal fantasy though...

handsyjo
02/01/19 6:48 pm

In Alabama as soon as they passed voter ID laws they shut down dmvs all in majority black areas so they couldn't get voter ID.
It's very easy to suppress voters with voter ID laws...

thebarr
02/01/19 6:55 pm

It’s very easy to enforce laws so that everyone can get an ID. Let’s face it, virtually everyone has one already. So yes, liberal fantasy. Unlike that CA law, that even Snopes calls “Mixed”.
