I think I have a good idea on how to stop abortion - a plan that both anti-abortion and pro-choice peoples can get behind. Hear me out, it'll be in the comments.

3) make every teen of reproductive age take care of a 1-year old with a cold while living in a trailer and on food stamps. 😩

A day would do it but make it a week to be sure

Slow down there, Satan 😂

I'm not sure if I'd trust some teens with a baby doll or a sack of flour, let alone a real kid.

1) Stop the practice of abstinence-only sex Ed and generally improve awareness in early teenagers of the real risks of being sexually active. Then, we make various forms of contraception available for free to pretty much anyone who asks for it.

2) Put an end to victim-blaming during rape cases and at the same time educate young men (and women) about the importance of consent. Meanwhile, we could stop religious lobbyists from restricting medical research so that more illnesses and birth defects can be found and cured in utero.

If we push for basic education like this, abortion rates in America could be cut in half, maybe even in the span of a generation.

Sounds good.
I'd like to add that avoiding the one and only sexual practice that leads to pregnancy can let you "eat your cake and have it, too."
Take "eat" liberally - or steaming hot heavy petting.

I think it would be of great service for schools to work with Planned Parenthood to educate youth in America about sex.

They provide sex education, and as far as I’m aware, they are the only agency that does.

I agree those are great starts. We had all the education back in the 70s but our school still had a huge amount of teenage pregnancies. Planned Parenthood argued back then for not only education but for contraception. As a mother of 2 daughters, I had that conversation with them as soon as they were of the age to be pregnant. Not only to protect them from there own behavior choices but the choices of others. No young girl should have to deal with the trauma of rape and then find herself pregnant. And it is a false argument to say young women should make a life and death decision of another human when they can't even decide on birth control. Federal clinics all over the nation provide some form of contraception for free. We do need to educate everyone to not ridicule or make assumptions when these teenage girls choose this path. I also think requiring someone to review their sonograms before making a decision of abortion makes good sense.Taking it away from religion would also be great

Sounds sensible. It’ll never happen.

Sounds good. By continuing to push the religious narrative that premarital sex is bad, refusal to teach comprehensive sex Ed, and refusing access to contraception, you’re guaranteeing failure and system overload, and ultimately abortion.

Let me be clear though. I don’t think kids should be engaging in sex so young because they aren’t emotionally ready for it but roadblocking contraception because your religious piety says so, isn’t helping them.

Just show them what sexually transmitted diseases look like. If that doesn’t help, nothing will.
