Had to take leave from grad school to care for a dying parent before my Thesis was even started. Course work was done. Thesis credit expired and changed from Incomplete to Failed. That got me kicked out and black balled from returning.

I have a B.A. English&Religion from a Liberal Arts college. (I know, hard to imagine. It was a mercy graduation)
I have a Doctorate from the School of Life in Stubbornness, Stupidity, and Addiction.

Yes, but I call it my “almost masters”. It’s a Master of Arts in Teaching. It’s a one year program where you take a few extra classes your senior year of undergrad, some summer classes, and some extra classes during the year you already have to spend getting certified. Do more work in the same amount of time, get a degree and a nice pay bump.

There are only a few fields of study whee you can obtain a doctorate without a masters.

Most people with PhD's in my field (physiological optics) didn’t get a masters degree first. I’m one of the rare people who did.
