Colorado started with medical MJ for a few years before legalizing it for recreational. There were some problems with how they did their MMJ though. Anyone with a hang nail could get a MMJ card and they allowed independent MMJ stores sell it. If it was truly for medical at the time and it is considered a controlled substance it should have been distributed by pharmacies and not private business. Once it became legal for rev use it should be more regulated as to who can sell it.

I have lived in Colorado since 1978. Since the legalization the state has gone downhill dramatically in terms of crime and Driving deaths. I am not necessarily opposed to legalizing but you really need to think about the effects and how to deal with them prior to legalization. Colorado legalized it well before passing laws to regulate and control it. The impact has been terrible. I know people will disagree with me but I have lived here for 40 years and I have seen first hand the changes that occurred after legalization.
