Before promising Medicare for all, were current Medicare recipients polled to see if they would prefer private insurance or government insurance?

Medicare for ALL. Does that include Congress and Senate members or do they have PRIVATE insurance?

That should be asked. Senator Harris wishes to do away with all private insurance companies so I am not sure where they would get their insurance otherwise. Also, some large companies are self insured and if its Medicare for all would that also eliminate those plans.

I speak in no official manner but the people I personally know using Medicare are pleased with the service and have had no issues seeking routine or emergency care. Heck they get more coverage than some private insurance and services are certainly more accessible compared to some of the high costs for diagnostic copays in private insurance.

I am glad to hear that. I care for my mother who is 75 and Medicare is a nightmare. So many things to keep straight and changes all the time. I worked for years with employer provided insurance until I was diagnosed with MS. I would much rather have my private insurance that I could tailor to my needs. I know of no one who is pleased with Medicare.

So I spoke with some folks that I know and they are on Medicaid not Medicare. Not sure too much about the differences but they reiterated being pleased.

I have a Medicare Advantage Plan that is outstanding. My healthcare for 13 years has been exceptional. People need to do their homework!

It seems that the health of the individual as well as the location goes into what choices a patient has. It doesn't matter how much you investigate the option if there is only one option on your area. This is another reason Medixare for all is flawed. Rural Kansas is not the same as Sacramento for example.

I may be wrong but Medicare for all doesn't suggest private insurance would go out but for those who don't have or cant afford private healthcare it certainly is a better option than none at all.
