Northeastern University sociology professor Suzanna Walters has said that men and women will only truly be equal when men resign from positions of power and stop running for public office. Do you agree with her that men cannot be feminists?
I got the impression from the question that there were two separate things at play here. Doc’s comment below mine makes me think I’m right. Whatever the actual case is either way, she sounds like a nut job to me. But, I’m a confident, powerful woman who knows my worth, not an insecure feminist victim of some imaginary male boogeyman.
I disagree with her real statement, because I don't think promoting women to positions to power within patriarchy will make patriarchy go away for the rest of women. I also disagree with your entirely separate statement that women can't be feminists, although they are often held back by their own lack of oppression.
When did I say that women can’t be feminists?
Sorry, that men can't be.
Well, it’s Illinois. Enough said
Her entire hypothesis is misandrous.
Why don’t women vote for women? 98% of black voted for Obama because he was black. Women did vote for Hillary as expected. There has to be a reason women don’t vote for women. Get out there and run for public office! You y’all vote for your kind!
It’s not about men not being in positions of power. It’s about more women being in positions of power. Equality means both men and women having representation.
Liberals love men. They vote for them all the time.
