A bill is floating to ban credit card only sales. This is to not offend credit card challenged people. Would you be willing to pay some cash to not upset anyone that can’t get a card?
Only if I have it
I don't use a credit card anyway.
I understand the inconvenience some people face when the are not allowed to use cash. Even if you’re not poor or ruined your ability to get a debit card because you ripped off the bank, you might want to use cash just because you’re trying to get out of debt. Using cash sets off pain receptors in your brain and you spend less. But our company stopped taking cash because it would disappear. If someone paid with cash, the worker would give away the product and pretend to enter the sale in the register. Then shove the cash in their pockets. So we just got rid of cash sales. It worked.
You shouldn't be forced to pay with credit only, or cash only, or a mix, just be given both options.
When will poor people with bad credit starve to death because they can't buy food with cash anymore?
Btw @rons : your wording is asinine.
It's not about not "offending" some people, and it shouldn't mean you *have* to make part of every transaction cash.
Just like most establishments have ramps for the wheelchair bound, they should allow those without credit cards to pay with cash.
You're not forced to use the ramp or pay with cash.
It was a quick blurb on local news. I just thought it was stupid.
I couldn’t find an article. But they were worried that us credit carders would offend the cash only and food stamp people.
It's highly unlikely the bill will *require* to pay part of anything with cash, just *offer* paying with cash as an option.
More options offend nobody.
So.....take a step backwards.
No thanks , I’d rather make it inconvenient for a few people than be inconvenienced.
What happens if ATM’s fail?
Cash is still King..
Never used an ATM.
I just use the card or ask my wife for cash. She’s loaded
Good thing you married her!
Come to think of it..
my husband doesn’t use an ATM!
We are afraid of the little teller i side the machine.
I’d like to add a comment I find relevant.
