Do you think you would be a better stand-up comedian, or high school math teacher?
Where is the neither button?
What ? Do they have you sitting around in a room thinking* up questions ...
I could do both.
I'm terrible at math, but my humor is dark and inappropriate....I'd better go with the math.
Humor is meant to stretch the lines of what is socially acceptable. Got any good jokes to share?
I failed and had to re-take advanced algebra in high school, so comedian. I actually have a large reserve of hilarious and true anecdotes from my occupation and my hobbies combined.
Successfully taught math for 20 years and always incorporated stand up.
Honestly I think I’d make a good stand up comedian if I had the balls to go up on stage. I’d rather retire and work with kids in a low income school just because I’ve seen the difference one positive voice can make in a struggling and naturally demotivating environment.
I am horrible at math so I would rather be a comedian
Performing in front of an audience scares the crap out of me. But I suck worse at math.
Anxiety can be treated. Sucking at math cannot.
Anxiety can be treated just look at robin Williams. He found the cure
They can both be treated through practice lol
im the same way outlaw.
if i have to go on stage, just down some shots. if i have to math.....well. no. i barely got through algebra 😂😂😂☺
Irish you are an a$$hole.
Henry, wrong. Not so for ppl who have dyscalculia.
It can still be treated through practice...
Just cause it’s harder when you start doesn’t mean there is no improving...
It's literally impossible for me to retain most knowledge of anything beyond basic math. It doesn't matter how much I "practice".
It’s not impossible. It’s very very difficult and likely not worth the time it would take since I’m guessing you aren’t gonna get a job that requires that math.
You don't have a LD do you. I can tell you have no idea what the hell you're talking about.
I’d be a better math teacher, but I’d prefer to be a comedian
Kids scare the hell out of me
Well I’m a middle school social studies teacher but I could probably teach math as long as it’s not calculus
Everyone has a calculator on their phone now. Can “teachers” be any more obsolete? What a joke.
You may be able to push some buttons on the calculator, but do you actually know what is happening?
You can push a button to get a sin or cosine, but do you know how to get it manually if you didn’t have a calculator?
A math teacher can teach you the actual mathematical process.
Yes. I’m usually adding and subtracting. It’s not that difficult to figure out.
I am referring to more advanced functions.
Lol comedian or hs math teacher....
Not really a difference in my experience.
Done the teacher part already. Comedy might be better than that Tragedy.
What a conundrum. On one hand, me trying to teach math would elicit reactions that would normally be seen in a comedy club. On the other, me trying to be a stand-up comic would be less a cure for someone’s blues, and more a treatment for insomnia.
I’ll select "Comedian". At least as a comedian, I know my Ma could be in the audience. I ALWAYS make her laugh!
I already think I'm hilarious, now the problem is, does everyone else?
Most other subjects I would have voted teacher. Math? Fuck no.
Being a stand-up comedian was PART of my successful teaching style as a HS English, Speech, and Drama teacher!
It depends where the persons talents and interest lie so impossible to really have an opinion on this
Last night I dreamed that I was weightless.
I was like, 0mg!
Okay maybe just a teacher
Massless* if your using mg lol
Lol absolutely right, Henry. I didn’t even think about that when my nephew told it to me. Unfortunately I haven’t had any problems or conversions to solve in a while to keep my memory fresh. Also, to conform it would change the dynamics of the joke. But I’m definitely gonna crush my nephew’s joy about it next time I see him. 😂
Math teacher it is
So a guy walks into a bar... I forget the rest. But I remember that 9+10=21
Math teacher for sure. Comedy is not my strong suite. I’m an Applied Mathematics minor. I think I could handle teaching high school math fairly well.
I think I have a good sense of humor, but I just took calculus 3, so I'm going with math teacher.
I am funny, but a monologing (probably not a word) in front of a crowd would be difficult.
I'm already a high school math teacher. Love it!
This user is currently being ignored
I could do good at both
My life is joke, so maybe standup might work out. 🤷🏻♀️
I am a teacher already, but DEFINITELY not a math teacher.
Either. Probably comedian, because everything's a joke anyway.
Teaching math would be easier for me. However, if I could perfect my dry humor, I think I’d rather be a comedian.
Teaching High School is icky...and I should know, I tried to do it for 10 weeks (Field Experience). I could do Stand-Up, no problem...making people laugh is fun.
I've thought about quitting my job and becoming a math or history teach and coach football.
As a former high school baseball coach, I'd encourage you to do it. Football coaches have a better chance of getting full-time jobs than others, and coaching high school sports is a blast.
I'm an excellent high school teacher already. But, I hate math and so I have to choose stand up comedian.
lol. I teach High School Math.
I could handle teaching algebra. Geometry was not my thing.
I don’t like math and I don’t like kids.
I’ll learn to be funny.
Same here, man!
Right? I don’t think I even liked kids when I was one.
There is no situation that would make me pick math over anything else.
Getting fed feet first into a meat grinder?
Ha! Ok, maybe that would be the situation. Maybe.
CPA... who wudda thunk 😂✌️
I made you laugh. I guess I chose wrong.
Two of the worst career choices for me
I'd take my chances as a comedian where .i Coulter tell happy jokes. Teaching in a high school, even math, sounds too much like a really cruel joke. On me.
*I could tell
Autocucumber came up with i. Coulter. No idea why, or who that would be. It’s been particularly unreliable since about two updates ago.
High school math. I love algebra!
I now pronounce you an odd duck! 😂
Quack! I'm the designated algebra homework helper for my two younger kids.
