When we were in Colorado, we order tartar sauce to dip our french fries in. The waitress said to either we were from Oregon or Washington. Both. If you indulge in french fries what do you like to dip them in?
Hidden Valley or Ranch dressing is very common here in Iowa for fry dipping.
I ask for sour cream to dip my fries in at restaurants.
I'm good with ketchup.
Ketchup, gravy or if they put the right spices on them, nothing. Sometimes they put way too much salt on them-and don't need anything on them.
Fry sauce which is ketchup and mayo mixed together, it's kind of a Utah thing.
Honey mustard, ranch, or ketchup.
Ketchup or cheese sauce
Ketchup or better still Vinegar.
Those are my two favorites, too.
ranch or ketchup
Ketchup and mustard
I’ll mix ketchup and malt vinegar together or, pour the mv over the fries and dip into ketchup.
Regardless, ALWAYS add pepper.
Definitely only ketchup, but if they’re good enough just plain.
I prefer ketchup but there is a chicken tender place called Cane's that has what they call Cane's sauce that is also pretty great.
The sauce is basically just ketchup and mayo with a couple spices
Ketchup or just salt
Unless they're sprinkled with truffle oil and Parmesan.
Ketchup and ranch
Bleu cheese dressing.
Tartar sauce! And I’m neither from Oregon nor Washington.
It’s a popular condiment in Europe. Especially with fried cheese.
Ketchup and mayo mixed together
Blu cheese or ranch dressing..yum!
Nothing, although at Steak ‘n Shake I’ll dip them in my shake occasionally.
Ketchup or Fry-Sauce
Nothing. Don't ruin the crispness by dunking it into something, or pouring goo all over it.
But like all potatoes, I like them with salt 😋
I often don’t dip them in anything. If I am going to dip them in something, it depends on my mood, but typically either ketchup or mayonnaise.
I usually mix mayo with either sriracha or if they are sweet potato fries, mayo and real maple syrup is awesome!
Nothing but salt. Popcorn salt (fine-ground salt) sticks the best. That's why McDonald's uses it.
I'll have to try that. We use kosher salt which holds when we pull the fries out of the fryer. Table salt bounces off.
Where's popcorn salt?
And while on the topic, is there "pretzel salt"?
Kosher salt IS pretzel salt, and it can be stuck to the pretzel by first either brushing on melted butter or (less messy) spraying a mist of water on the hot pretzel before salting.
Popcorn salt (plain white) is tough to find. Usually it's in the popcorn section or with the spices. I like Morton's Popcorn Salt.
But the BEST popcorn salt anywhere (for popcorn, not fries) is Flavacol. It's what we used in the movie theater. It has a buttery flavor. Amazon sells it. 👍
Ketchup and mayo, ranch, or vanilla milkshake.
Brown gravy. Southwest Ranch.
Ketchup or BBQ sauce.
Ketchup. I do not like mayonnaise is a rule.
I like ketchup, but gravy is a treat.
Sometimes I’ll sprinkle them with malt vinegar.
That is good
Plain or ketchup
Ketchup, Mayo, Milkshake or Vinegar.
I’m from Oklahoma ;-)
Ketchup or mayo or a blend
If anything, BBQ sauce. Typically though, a dash of salt and you're good to go.
Tartar sauce is good. So is ketchup, honey mustard, ranch, BBQ sauce, steak sauce. So many options! 🍟🤙
Something good like Parmesan or truffle fries doesn’t need ketchup. Otherwise, dip it.
Ketchup.. like a normal person
Honey mustard or ranch
The best French fries don’t need any dipping
For the lesser fries, ketchup
