What is up with Trump wanting to pardon people who don't ask for it or even need it?

If he pardons people he can just slip himself in there too.

I hate trump. I don’t see an issue with this. Is it bad he’s doing that?

Don’t ask for it? I mean, maybe most people don’t literally ask the president to pardon them, but who the hell wouldn’t want to be pardoned?

It’s pretty common to send the president or the governor a letter asking to be pardoned

He’s getting us ready for his pardons of Manafort, Flynn, Stone, Cohen & his kids.

Examples?
If you mean pardon for dead people, it's symbolic and makes the descendants happy.

Some of the people that Trump has pardoned never even applied for it like Lewis Libby and I believe Joe. Now Ali who's lawyer has said no thanks and was technically already pardoned by Carter

And I say technically because even when Carter pardoned all draft dodgers, you still had to apply for it

The Supreme Court reversed Ali’s conviction before Carter’s blanket pardon.
So, the way I understand things, there is nothing to pardon.
