Jailed for a year, a jury found Maxton not guilty of murder in June 2016. But in the middle of trial, he/his lawyers learned that police had obtained DNA evidence confirming Maxton’s innocence 7 mos earlier, which they kept hidden. Law suit coming.

The same DNA evidence that can convict an individual can also exonerate them along with not doing anything at all.

, finding that the DNA evidence collected by the Sea does not match the suspect does not exonerate the suspect of the crime. Although if the police department didn't divulge this in Discovery I can see why they are suing.
