President Trump said he likely will support a congressional effort to end the federal ban on marijuana. Do you agree with President Trump on this issue?

Depends, I don't want to be smelling it everywhere I go. Maybe if they just make public areas no smoking zones it would be fine.

It should be a state's rights issue though so I will say a federal ban should go

Yes, I agree with his current statements on this. That’s why I voted for legalization of recreational as well as medical marijuana here in Colorado shortly after I moved here and was happy when it passed. I’d like to see it legalized nationally (but I’m fairly content to see that happen a little slowly as the states that have already legalized it come to grips with some of the nuances).

I don’t use the stuff any more but believe that others (adults, for recreational use) should be able to use it, responsibly.

Do I trust that Trump won’t do a reverse on this as he has on some other issues? Not completely. I’ll be pleased if he continues to support a responsible bill for it though.

Eh, I don’t have a good reason, and in hindsight I was wrong. I assumed that we didn’t need any more products that impaired us or dumbed us down. Then three things changed my mind:
My argument against liberals is that if they don’t like something, they want to ban it. I always said if you don’t like it, just don’t buy it, don’t prevent others. I had to be consistent with weed.
Secondly, my last dog was like 15 and having health problems. My vet told me about cannipet. I gave it to him and it changed his life and gave him a few more good years. He wasn’t in pain anymore.
Finally, I have some chronic pain. I started vaping CBD oil and it helped tremendously.
While I still don’t enjoy getting high, I like the health benefits for myself and others. It’s not up to me to decide what others do.

So I’m creeping as usual and I’ve never done the weed in any form but if sex whilst high is anything like sex while in the early stages of a good alcohol buzz, i may be curious to try. And i have some intermittent pain from autoimmune disease but I usually just deal. I’d be interested in helping it.

Now see, this is why I'm not a conservative. Both liberals and conservatives have the same mindset.

I actually couldn’t care less what you do with your body as long as ... (1) you sign a release stating that taxpayers won’t be on the hook to care for you after you do the stupid things you want to do, (2) and that when you do the stupid things you feel that you must, you are prevented from harming innocent people.

The problem with drugs, alcohol and tobacco is that your freedoms to consume also come with your selfish ability to harm others. You actually have no right to do that! Yet the rest of us are told that because of your freedoms, we’re supposed to just suck it up and shut up.

Think Lovin Life

Hey we agree!
I am in favor of a "sin tax" that pays for the added cost of careless habits:

Alcohol- $2 per drink $5 after the third drink st a bar

Your assertion that this is the cause of government growth is ridiculous on its face.

That's easily rebutted. Just exactly like liberals, conservatives enact laws to force people to live as conservatives think proper. Certainly, in the case of marijuana, that entails adding a whole new bureaucracy to hound people who may only be trying to get relief from pain or glaucoma. The laws against it make the product ridiculously expensive, meaning the corruption of police, judges, and lawmakers, and the cost of imprisoning of a huge number of people, some bad but most not.
