Trump says he is likely to support ending federal ban on marijuana.
Let the states decide. The federal government needs to stay out of it.
He did some good things, but he's still an idiot. Someone will have to be super awesome to get my vote and I haven't seen anyone like that in YEARS.
If real, that'd be great. He'd have to fire Jeff Sessions, though...
Excellent, assuming he follows through.
Repeal the 17th!!!!!!
Return Rights back to the States.
Wow. What a tough, controversial stance that is.
He would easily win in 2020 if he did
I’ve honestly stopped caring about whether it’s federally legalized. It’s been legal for me and other serious stoners for years now. He’s poking a mostly-dead horse and trying to win support because of it, but we all know he won’t even follow through when it comes to his actions.
Before this I had Obama ranked higher than Trump. If he pulls this off he pulls ahead of Obama imo.
This would be horrible news for the drug cartels
How can marijuana be made great again?
MAGA branded blunts?
They’d be Uge
To what degree? Only approving it for medical purposes doesn't go far enough.
It would appear that it’s full adult use of it.
I hope so, it far beyond time.
Omg, that’s great. You have a source?
LA Times. I couldn’t link it because it was a pop up but I’ll get it.
It sounds good. If he ends up supporting the federal legalization, that would be a big win.
when and where did he say this.
that would secure a reelection
I️ sure hope so
I'm sure he's lying.
If he’s not, it’s a good thing.
It would be.
It’s not a lie
It appears it has bipartisan support
Liberals won’t be happy with him even if he did do it. There is no pleasing the left of a republican is in any office.
Since you have already made up your mind on that I guess it wouldn't hurt to do it.
If he’s serious, he’ll demonstrate it by draining the Sessions. Until then, I just roll my eyes and chuckle.
Sessions isn’t going anywhere. The silent executioner has a job to do.
Well, swervin, liberals voting on this & related polls today (correction; yesterday, its after midnight where I am now) are overwhelmingly supportive of his stance. (With some remarks about whether he’ll keep that stance, including my own.)
In 4 polls asking was this a politically smart move, do you agree with him, is this good news or bad, and this one (just stating his stance and asking good/bad), the affirmative results for Democrats are at present 85% of 20 votes, 100% of 32, 100% of 28, and 96% of 25. (Compared to Republicans 93% of 30, 63% of 30, 58% of 24, 66% of 24.)
For a slightly different question & comparison, the last time SOH asked if we thought marijuana should be legalized federally, 91% of Democrats and 47% of Republicans said yes. Much bigger numbers of course; 573 & 841.
I was a little surprised to see you *that* cynical about liberals on this.
