How much should you charge per hour to put down mulch in someone’s yard and/or possibly do other gardening work?

If you are going to do it to make money, charge by the job not by the hour.

Yes I was thinking that too but it’s hard for me to do that not knowing how long it’ll take me by just looking at someone’s property. My dad paid me to do his yard. All of the front, part of the side and part of the back. I got it done over several days and it took a total of 9 hrs to do it.

My dad gave me well over $15 an hour but I had no idea what to charge others bc I knew my dad would give me more.

That’s pretty much a perfect example of a minimum wage job, so probably whatever the minimum wage is in that jurisdiction.

I would pay $15. That’s a fair deal.

I went out and bought some mulch for my back yard. And was back home moving the bags to the back. And a car drives up and the guy was yelling “what’s your number.” I was thinking I must be looking cute doing this and he wanted my number. Turns out he was needing mulch for his yard too 😏
I’m the homeowner doing it myself. I don’t do other yards πŸ–• πŸ™…‍β™‚οΈπŸ˜‚
