Is it reasonable to call someone ignorant that doesn't agree with you?

Depends on what we're disagreeing on. See flat-earthers.

Not because they don’t agree with me or anyone, but definitely if they are clearly not in possession of available facts. If preserving their ignorance is a deliberate choice, you needn't bother - you can’t fix that level of stupid anyway.

Do they know the subject but have a different opinion or are they speaking without having knowledge of the subject

They are well informed, they have a different view.

It depends if they are confusing facts with opinions. Closed minded people are often ignorant and unwilling to educate themselves.

Depends if they disagree or are actually ignorant.

How do you know? Not having the same info doesn't automatically make one right and the other wrong. If they have different info how do we know our info is right and theirs wrong? Just curious.

Some info is just plain wrong and it can be proven. For example, if you have informed yourself that the earth is flat then you are simply wrong.

I agree with that but until their source info is assessed differing info doesn't automatically mean one is wrong. For example: there are scientists on both sides of the climate change debate (really not trying to start a climate change discussion just showing that the can be conflicting info on many topics). However, as with the flat earth, if there is sufficient scientific data that already that says A is true then it is incumbent upon someone with different data to prove B is now true. But, scientific advancements always reveal things we previously didn't know because we didn't have technology (again, not about flat earth, I do not believe the earth is flat lol).

I know you don’t want to start the debate, but just for the record there aren’t really scientists on both sides of the climate change “debate” and certainly not climate scientists (AKA the experts). The vast majority of climate scientists believe anthropogenic global warming (AGW) is occurring. It’s not even up for debate within the climate science community any more... disputing AGW is almost comparable to believing in a flat earth thing at this stage.

If anyone tells you differently they are either misinformed themselves or lying to further an agenda.

Bigphat: That is what ignorant means.

Are we agreeing or are you calling me ignorant?

Neither omniku. I disagree about CC science no longer up for debate, but I do not think you are ignorant

Thanks, I appreciate it. Which qualified climate scientists are still disputing anthropogenic global warming?

There are many climate scientists who do not agree with man caused global CC. Ma y believe that co2 only plays a small part. Many know that the correlation is with solar activity.

Ok so if there are so many... name one.
