So little difference between them that it is a mostly just a distinction. One is the direct descendant of the other, largely created by a disgruntled priest who just wanted to tweak a few of the things that weren’t working out for him without actually starting over to invent a new religion.
I am Catholic and attended a Lutheran Church for some time, they're actually quite similar. Lutheran masses usually lasted longer, however.
I am Lutheran. My boyfriend is Catholic. We attend both services. No problems.
