When Bill Maher says the n-word... nothing, and he apologizes for using it for the 700th time. Rosanne says an edgy joke while high on America's drug problem, prescription pain killers, and because she supports Trump, all of a sudden the 2nd amendment is imaginary.

How is she African American when she was born in Iran? How is she considered black? She is Malatto at best. She was not compared to a monkey but a fictional character. It was and is humorous. Hopefully the offended will find a safe space and some kittens.

Does anyone know what prompted Roseanne's tweet? Did she just spew this stupidness out of the blue?

I'm white but my cousin i grew up with is biracial and despite being a cute kid was called a monkey by white kids at our elementary school because of his half black side. Years later, He had girls in high school tell him he was "handsome for a black guy" more times then I could count. Seeing other white people make anti black comments makes my blood boil. I saw first hand how much it can hurt a person and I don't find any excuse for it.

Comedians are supposed to push the limits of comedy, sometimes they go a bit too far. She apologized for it and admitted it was too far, now ABC put tons of people out of a job because of political correctness.

I don't know why ABC greenlighted it in the first place. She has a long history of saying and doing offensive things throughout her career (including mocking the National Anthem, by the way, to any of my fellow conservatives who are misguided enough to like her). That is her right, but businesses and people have the right to not do business with her and not watch her unfunny tv show (I've never watched a full episode).
And I don't know why any conservatives are supporting or defending her. She is not a conservative. She is a progressive Trump supporter. There is a HUGE difference.

It’s one thing to call somebody a racist because you don’t like them, it’s a COMPLETELY different thing to ACTUALLY BE A RACIST

You have to recognize what platform your using. Careers have been destroyed on twitter so don’t be an idiot on it. She could have said this exact thing as a comedian on stage and nothing would have happened because that would’ve been her own platform. It has nothing to do with this time we live in. I️ remember Howard cosell getting fired for saying “look at that monkey go” during a game

I hate to say no but for the fact that so many others working on the show will be hurt by its cancelation. The show had already been renewed for season two, so I'm sure many people who worked on it felt they had a stable income for next year.

ABC had a right to do it. I just wish the media would stop being hypocrites and give the same consequences to the liberals that say stupid shit about conservatives.

I dunno... I believe in second chances. She didn’t kill anyone. She made a mistake and apologized. This culture of outrage is getting too much.

She isn't even african american. It's obvious the network was waiting for Rosanne to screw up so they could pounce on the opportunity to trash the shoe

Hell yes . Being ignorant doesn’t give one a pass on saying ignorant shit! Plus she is hugely selfish. She caused the loss of a hundred jobs and she was only thinking of herself tweeting racist bs to get a high. The constitution doesn’t give one a right to a tv show . She used her 1st amendment in the tweet. Adios Roseanne to oblivion on your nut plantation in Hawaii . No tears here

Additionally, when someone makes mean-spirited comments about a conservative woman’s appearance, you POS are silent, so FU. You don’t have a problem with it in principle, you simply don’t like it cuz it was one if yours. Which makes you ginormous hypocrites and not worthy of hearing.

Suggesting it is racist out of hand is ignorant. Some people - of all colors - do have more pronounced facial characteristics that may make them resemble other primates more closely. This is empirically true. But in the World of Butthurt where everyone wants to be offended, immediately crucifying is the new normal. The appropriate course of action would have been continue the show and see if it pissed off enough people that ratings declined. *GASP* Let the marketplace decide instead of self-righteous progressives!?!?

Since she is a public figure, making any sort of political remark is advised against. However, canceling the show in response is just a bad move on NBC’s part. It highlights the issue even more and gives them a defined political image. In terms of morality, they have clearly just discriminated against a certain ideological belief, and strengthened the polarization of our nation even further. This should not have been their response.

Just because something funny pops into your head, doesnt mean you should tell it to the world. She could have just said it out loud to people in her immediate vicinity and not made an ass out of herself. Dont drink and tweet, I think is the takeaway. Would you post something like that to your FB wall? Probably not.

I honestly don't think comparing someone to an ape (or any animal for that matter) is racist. Is it rude? Yes. But, it is pure hypocrisy to fire her for doing this, because so many other people have compared famous people or politicians to apes, with no consequences. Jimmy Kimmel, who works for the same company, ABC, compared Trump to an orangutan, but I guess he wasn't fired because that isn't "racist." The executive producer of 'Roseanne' also once compared Trump to an orangutan, with no backlash. The left will find anything to call racist to suppress conservative values. Disgusting.
Now, does ABC have the right to fire anyone for any reason because they're a private company? Yes, of course, but this was a very stupid and very hypocritical reason.

For all those who keep bringing up people who make Anti Trump comments. Insulting Trump is not making a Racist comment! One thing has nothing to do with the other!

Making fun of Trump, and that really isn’t too hard, is NOT the same as making a blatant racist comment. Even her manager dropped her. Personally I liked the show and had hoped it would continue, but I agree with the decision.

So Disney fired Roseanne for her obviously stupid tweet, but just hired Keith Olberman who has made really disgusting comments about Trump. What??

Ok I agree her tweet was awful. She’s a racist bigot. However she’s not the only person who works on that show. Lots of other decent people depend on that show for a paycheck and a boost in their career. They should have found a way to punish her with out also punishing all the other people working hard on that show.
