A new video game called “Active Shooter” allows players to either stop or commit a school shooting. Many parents are outraged, saying that it crosses the line. Should the game be banned?

Parents should start acting like parents and ban the game for their children. But if parents acted more like parents, we wouldn’t have the shooting problem to begin with.

I struggle with any banning. But the game is an asinine idea.

No. I see this as a freedom of speech issue.

This same hurrah happened a few years back with the game called “Hatred”. Honestly I don’t like the idea of censoring anything.

I say yes in the regards that companies should refuse to create and/or sell it

That’s not as bad as GTA

Yes, in any GTA or the gazillion similar games, such as Gangstar Vegas, or smaller "clones", you play a really bad guy.
Many of your missions involve blowing things up, murder, shootouts, some of the smaller games even have headcount missions (shoot 10 random people, kill 10 people with your car).
People don't usually demand to ban those games, although admittedly I don't know a game where you have to, or can shoot children. GTA type games are usually conspicuously devoid of minors.

No, it's not that different from several counter terrorist shooters where you can also play as a terrorist.

In poor taste, but there’s no meaningful difference between this and all the other first-person shooter games.

Of course not. That’s not even particularly bad.

No, companies should just refuse to sell it.....

Probably a mature rating, but that's about it.

It shouldn’t be banned, but nobody should buy it.

Commit a school shooting? Are you fucking kidding me?! I don’t think it should be banned solely bc I can’t think of legal grounds to do that. However to say it’s in poor taste is an understatement.

Shouldn't be banned but I find it offensive.
