John McCain is currently trying to put his wife in his senate seat for when he dies. Should the governor reject this proposal?

Who the fuck does that decrepit warmongering Judas think he is trying to deny the people of Arizona a voice by appointing his successor like a European monarch! Let the voters decide!

I think the Senator is a war hero. But, he is a big government Republican practicing cronyism.

Is that a thing that’s allowed? I mean it apparently is, but I never heard of that process.

It's very common for a senator's wife to be appointed by a governor after they die. It's usually just as a stand in. It's seen as the respectful thing to do

Stand in until the term is up or is a special election appointed?

Up to the new senator. Still have to win on their own merit though

The voters of Arizona should decide Democrat or Republican who they want to occupy that Senate seat

And they would. The governor would appoint interim Senator until a special election.

This should never be allowed.

Unlike other states Arizona mandates a special election without a temporary fill by the governor.

No - over the years there have been several wives who took over for their husbands. The precedent has already been set.

No, nepotism seems to be the new thing, Trump has made sure of that.

Very common for a senator's wife to take there place after they die, usually it's just temporary.

A lot actually, Debbie Dingell comes to mind.
