One can even have racist ideals which do not hold any regard to a specific person.
The idea that all of a certain race ought to be a certain way, and that they have no right to deviate from that template is rather racist.
Biologically, race is a social construct. It was created to justify colonialism. Africa didn't colonize Europe, but the other way around. White people benefit from the colonial white supremacist system. The attitudes of white people are thus racist. Standing up to power isn't racism.
No, I have a historically informed definition of racism. It's reductionist to say, "racism is when you don't like people who look different." Life isn't so simple. Social structures don't come from nowhere.
Look at sprinters, out of 125 who broke the 10 second mark for 100meters, only 2 were white, you think this is coincidence? Look at cornerbacks and skilled players in the nfl, how many of them are white, look at the NBA.
Then what would be the causation with the amount of evidence presented, you think there is something more to this? It’s not like only black people ran track or play football or basketball and white people don’t, I could understand if that was the case.
I can't give you a comprehensive list of all possible causations. But one that I find plausible is that black people are systematically discriminated in other areas of society, such as academia or the business world. Sports are the only area in which many can succeed.
Because white people don't try as hard, knowing that they have tons of opportunities? Perhaps those who have the best bodies for sports end up not pursuing sports? I don't know, there are tons of factors at play. You can't demonstrate that race is anything more than a social construct.
I just did their is proof that one race is superior at certain physical activities, you think it’s because they don’t try as hard? Have you ever been on a sports team, kids killed themselves to be a starter, and only so many can be one. You think white kids in the south where football is basically a religion are like eh, I’m not gonna try that hard, yea right
Other than the breakdown of positions of players in the NFL and skin colors, amount of white runners, percent of black people in the NBA, which has a sample size of up to 100 years and thousands upon thousand of people who play the sports, I guess that’s not good evidence and doesn’t show correlation 🤔
The second link basically repeated what I've been saying, that there are a lot of reasons, and that race likely isn't one of them.
That being said, it did raise the issue of how blacks in the US are unique to African blacks in that there was a degree of artificial breeding in order to reproduce traits corresponding to strength, etc. That's not something I had considered.
It’s also from 1997, they have found different dna strands attributed to different peoples origination to be correlated with various physical performances. Point being is there is still an overwhelming amount of evidence that shows that black people have out performed and are better than white people at sports, while only making up 10-15% of the population. While they have some speculation on what the causation may be, whether it’s something in their dna or traits evolved from years of running, there is a correlation of skin color and performance in skilled positions or sports
