Which family structure would you prefer?Egalitarian: Both parents split the time and energy on raising their kids. Neither one totally sacrifices their career for their kids. Complimentary: One parent makes the money, one parent stays at home.

Both my wife and I worked with high-paying careers, but the taxes were killing us and paying for nanny’s to raise our kids wasn’t worth it.

She wanted to stay home and now the family is much better for it.

Every family is different.

Absolutely no need to apologize, my friend. This is a tricky one, and I just wanted you to be aware. We retired teachers just can't help it!

Complementary because it frees up time for both at the end of the day. Nice if you can afford to do so.

It all depends on the family and their circumstances

I have friends that do it both ways— whatever works for them. My husband works full time and I work part time. When we’re both at work one of our parents watch our kid. We have an awesome situation and we’re super thankful. We both change diapers and watch our little kid. It works well for us.

I know families in each scenario. I vote for whatever works.

I wouldn’t take anything for the time I spent staying at home with my children.

Good question. I’m fine with either one. I chose complimentary just because I think it works better for most people.

Complimentary, as long as it doesn’t involve me dealing with a kid.

Complimentary is how we do it. I make the money, she runs the house. It's worked pretty good for us so far.

Kids need mothers not day schools or baby sitters.

I’m interested to see the results on this one. I grew up in a complementary setting and chose that.

I am interested in the results as well and I grew up Egalitarian.

I am fine with either one but I am leaning Egalitarian.
