Both. I see why either should be shortchanged.

Work 180 days a year, 2 hour delays, snow days... Sounds rough.

Works holidays, deals with violent criminals, crazy hours... Yeah you're right. Piece of cake

I hate when teachers whine "I don't get paid enough". You chose to be a teacher. It isn't a secret they don't make much. Everyone deals with assholes at work. Not my fault you chose a "feel good" job

Teachers work 50 to 60 hours a week. You are forgetting the time put in outside of the classroom. In preparing classes, grading papers and homework, attending school functions, getting additional credits by furthering their education on weekends, nights or during the summer.

Because teachers are the only people who put in unpaid hours after work.

Once again. They chose a field they knew was low paying.

But it's an important job. Shouldn't we encourage people who are talented to go into education. It's obvious that educating people has positive impacts to society.

Teachers. It's a highly productive and very difficult job to do right. Any thug with a gun can be a cop, and they do nothing that any man defending his family can't do better.

From what I know teaching seems like a pretty easy job. Cops

Teachers call police, not the other way ‘round.

Police became educated enough to do their jobs because of teachers.

I picked teachers but we can never underestimate what good cops do and the value in it, especially on a day like today.

If we have better teachers and better parents, there won’t be as much need for police.

Police have earned respect. Most teacher (not all) just give kids busy work and don't teach any useful skills in life.

Teachers are part of a failed system and they didn’t fail because of lack of pay. The lack of pay is just another symptom of the underlying cause - government control.

Police. They have dangerous jobs, and you want to pay them enough so that they don’t jeopardize their pension by being corrupt.

I went with Police due to the higher risk.

Had to think for a minute. Both should be paid better. I think the answer depends on where your job is. In the more dangerous areas, police should definitely be paid more than in the safer areas. As a teacher I've never feared for my life.

Tough one. I don't think I can pick.

Both groups should be paid better. One protects us and the other basically raises our kids for us.

Teachers, and that was even before they were considered First Responders.

Teachers, because even though policing is a dangerous job, a good education can prevent a lot of crime. Hell, even just heaving good role models in schools can help.
