I often walk and pick up trash in the smaller really old cemeteries around here. I find it calming to do when there no longer any family/friend around to do it.
There is one that I visit at least once a year - it has a number of Civil War and WWI vets. There is a homeless camp just outside the fence but that doesn’t bother me. Sometimes the guys help!

I picked the one on the right.

My favorite cemetery (seems weird to say) is just outside of Boston. It’s really beautiful and it’s peaceful to walk there...

The right one is closer to what I like: clearly marked graves in rows.

We are helping clean up and put flags on the graves of veterans in the Jewish Cemetery tomorrow. It made me look up different types of gravestones, cemeteries and burial practices.

I am used to larger stones, often with pictures, in Russian cemeteries but I really like American cemeteries too.
