Waco, so Chip and Joanna could fix up a house for me.

Definitely Waco. It’s a nice city, I’ve never heard anything good about Atlanta. I’m sure Texas pays more than Georgia schools as well.

I like cooler, rainy weather, so neither would be on my short list. I just drove through Waco 2 hours ago. We stopped and ate at a catfish place. If it were me, I’d probably prefer Atlanta as long as I could live on some land outside the city.

You should’ve hit Health Camp. Best milkshakes and great hamburgers. Nothing healthy about it. Ha!

I saw that place, and the name totally threw me! I’ll keep on in mind for my next trip. Thank for the tip!

I️ need to make a trip there this summer to go to the water park with the big slides, maybe head down to Austin and Lockhart for bbq as well.
I’m getting so tired of Dallas.

Example of our young people not having coping skills anymore. So unfortunate

What’s wrong with Atlanta?

Atlanta for sure. I’ve lived there before and I loved it.

I'd have to look at the relative advantages and disadvantages, cost of living, traffic, available housing, etc. I’m torn because of my aversion to big cities, and Texas (Southklahoma) in general. There may not be a good choice between just those two.

Well. I have no interest in places that are cold.

Waco is my preference. It's all about ability to get a job.

We’re actually thinking of retiring in one of the smaller towns outside Waco. Lots of advantages.

I have no clue. We’ll have to see what’s available when the time comes. It’s gonna have to be about 3 acres, bc hubs wants a shop to work on and build gas burning vehicles. Maybe something to race at Bonneville. 🙄

You can find plenty of options.
I have a friend that has a place that backs up to the river. They put their lawn chairs in the river. Sounds inviting.

I can’t stand the traffic in Atlanta, and avoid it as much as possible. I like Waco, if being near family wasn’t a concern, I’d go there.

I was in a very nice neighborhood in McGregor (a Waco suburb) yesterday. Waco has a lot to offer. Texas is great & I would rather be in a smaller Texas town than Houston or Dallas. West of Waco is great hill country. Baylor is a great school. It’s a quick drive to Dallas or Austin.

What do you do?

Public schools?

Atlanta wouldn’t be a consideration for me unless I had family there.

Why, what's wrong with that area? I would focus outside the city, not actually in atlanta.

Atlanta is ok. I don’t know enough to say anything bad about it. I think of the city as being a little rough, similar to Houston. I would expect public schools to be challenging there.
I just think Waco is a lot better place to live.

Atlanta. It's a fairly Liberal enclave in the Deep South.

I don't like Waco, but I'd still pick it over Atlanta.

You're right in the middle between Austin and Dallas but it's still a couple hours either way.

That's the benefit. Smaller town feel

Fair enough. I like small towns but still being close enough to go to the city when I want

Depends on traffic.
Personally, I'd take Waco.
BUT, if you are a young professional, I'd take Atlanta.
