Do you serve eggnog at your Christmas feast?
My husband made adult apple cider — apple cider mixed with Goldschlager — for Friendsmas. A friend brought her mix of cranberry soda and white wine. She freezes whole cranberries to use as ice cubes.
Cranberry Soda, White Wine and frozen cranberries sounds lovely.
I’m not much of a drinker, but it was pretty good.
If anything it looked festive.
Definitely. The adult apple cider is pretty with al of the gold flakes swirling around. We also had Godiva chocolate (milk & white) liquor. The ladies at our Friendsmas had very festive looking glasses as we sat around and talked after dinner.
Sounds like a lot of planning went into it. It sounds like a wonderful time.
Not too much. But we did have a lot of fun. I just wish the two groups (hubby’s work & non-work) mingled a bit better.
We make milk punch. A local restaurant makes it for Sunday brunch. It’s melted vanilla ice cream, milk, bourbon, rum and brandy. Sprinkle nutmeg on top if you desire.
That sounds good.
No. Mulled wine.
Do you mull it over? 😉
Haha, funny, but no, I don't like eggnog.
I’m the only person in my family that loves it. Mom will sip on a little but I just love it.
When we were kids, we were allowed to lick a bit of it but I didn't like it. It's too sweet and I didn't care about the alcohol.
I buy virgin Egg Nog.
I have never had a virgin one. Isn't it just a mix of condensed milk with sugar?
Heavy whipping cream, eggs mixed with sugar and pie spices.
Ewww, I loathe whipped cream. All I can taste is fat. Mulled wine it is. 😁
I love it when it’s mixed the right way. Kemp’s Golden Egg Nog or Land o Lakes Traditional Egg Nog taste the best in my opinion.
I’ve never tried mulled wine.
We discovered Mexican eggnog. Rompope. We can buy a bottle at Total Wine and it’s really good!
I never heard of that. Interesting.
We bought our first bottle in Mexico. To us it was just a really good liquor. Then the guys working at our favorite Mexican restaurant told us it was Mexican eggnog. Just last year we found we could buy it here.

Thank you! 😺
Wish I could share a drink with you.
I bet we could drink and be merry! 😺
Ewww. Eggs are meant to be eaten fried, or baked into cakes and cookies, never consumed in anything remotely close to liquid form. That’s a hard no.
Have you tried it?
Yes. As disgusting as I expected it to be. A waste of good bourbon and/or rum.
Maybe it was self fulfilling prophecy?
I love it! I can drink in any time. Num! 😺
We have it and eggnog ice cream in the house all season. Not for me. For me it is the answer to the question: What could we possibly do to milk to make it even worse?
Oh, so you don’t like milk?
Not at all. It’s OK in cakes and cookies, with the wetness baked out of it, but I never drink it and haven’t even used it to moisten cereal since the invention of Diet Coke.
It’s sad that stores only carry it during the holidays. I can drink it year round! Yum!
Same, I have a recipe that can satisfy my cravings year round.
How does it compare to Kemp’s Premium Egg Nog?
Nothing is better than Kemp’s
Or Land o Lakes Traditional Egg Nog?
Oberweis is really good, too.
I’ve tried various versions and I love my Kemp’s!
Never heard of or seen Oberweis.
It’s a dairy farm in northern Illinois, but they are great.
You’re closer than me. I sometimes see Dean’s but it was sold out today.
They’re pretty decent, too.
Yes, the traditional. Not the low-fat.
Low fat sucks
It’s like it haunts you and tries to kill your tastebuds.
