On the weekend (or any day in which you have no early commitment) do you usually get out of bed before or after 9am?
I usually get up at ten then head to the beach with my friends
I have to sleep in on the weekend during the week I'm up by 4 to start the day
Hungover? After nine. Not hungover? Before nine.
It's sucks because I can't get up on weekdays and I get up at like 5 on weekends.
I work 3rd shift, so it's a completely different question for me.
I've gotten up naturally at 5 since high school.
I live with a five year old....there is no sleeping in.
Until recently i was way more like after 12. Also is anyone else surprised the Mormons in Utah are lazy? Honestly did not expect that, way to go Joseph Smithians, I'm glad to see you're not all robots like Mitt Romney
It's comments like this that make me sick. Democrats are all about some freedom of religion but yet they harp on it like no tomorrow. They stand for nothing yet they stand against everything. Abortion: no women should have their rights. Death Penalty: no we shouldn't kill people.
Attacking Mormons for your opinion of being a robot, yet you think the world should be a more loving place? The want "fuel efficient cars" yet they drive cars that are 80% plastics and composites. They want hun control yet the biggest problem with guns are in Hollywood...mostly democrat.
They want lower taxes on certain groups yet those same groups get more government benefits then after a year or two they complain about dependability on government. There a reason you don't feed the wildlife, they become dependent. They want others to decide everything for them, what car they drive
...how many calories they consume, what lights they can turn on, how much money they should make, what movies they're allowed to watch, whether or not they can have guns, how much their airline price should be....then they complain about no say in today's government...YOU made it so damn big!
Slow your roll big guy I'm as much of a conservative as one can be & since the election is over & IF ur one too, its ok to admit Romney sucked. He spoke conservatism as a 2nd language & cuz we nominated a robot people only voted against Obama instead of FOR Romney. Til THAT changes we'll keep losing
The election was lost because 98% of blacks voted for him. If that majority of any minority voted for one person, that person is going to win. Romney did fine as a conservative/republican president, it's just getting to the point that conservatives are going to have to stop being conservative to win
Interesting map!! Definitely an after 10am person, myself.
The income, age, and party filters tell it all.
I agree, cato.
Week: 5 am
Weekend: 7 am
I'm retired and its 6:45 on week days and no later then 8 on weekends.
School makes me used to getting up before nine
The income filter cracks me up
I'm up around seven or so every day, like clockwork. I don't remember what it's like to sleep past seven. I try to force myself to sleep past then, but it never works.
I have 3 rescue birds... Meaning when the sun is up = their up = the household is up. Lol
I'm up by 4am everyday, even if I don't have to be. I just like getting up early. On the off chance I do sleep in, I'm up by 6.
It varies. Sometimes I'm up by 9, but other times I'm just wiped out. This past Saturday I didn't get out of bed until noon, made us brunch, then went back to bed until 4:30pm. Totally felt like I wasted a day of my weekend and not happy that its Monday "already" :P
When you've worked hard 40+ hrs a week the majority of your life, sleeping in means not waking up to an alarm clock!
Usually before, but it's because I have a kid, not because I like getting up early.
Before the kiddo came along; after 9. Now? I'll be lucky to get up after 9!
All of the filters are interesting on this one
Unfortunately the pupsters don't understand the concept of sleeping in. I do go back to bed after I let them out and feed them.
I usually wake up at 5:30, so when I can sleep in, I wake up at 8:00.
The age filter on this one is enlightening.
I have an "early commitment" every day of the week. If I sleep in, I feel like the whole day is a waste and I feel like a bum. Occasionally, I'll have a weekend day off to sleep in, but rarely.
If you work regular shifts, sleeping in is something you might regret. Keep the rhythm.
Out of bed is the key here, I wake up before 9 but I stay in bed for a long time after I wake up
Way before. My dogs usually have me up no later than 5:30 every day.
Even when I have obligations, I try not to be up before 9 lol!
I get up at like 9 when I have no plans or obligations... Lol is this ok for a teenager???
2 yr old has me up by 7:30 most mornings, if not before :)
I work nights. I just got out of bed at 4:50 PM
Usually, yes. Always, no.
Interesting income differential. Very telling.
I think the income differential corresponds with the age differential. Don't try to make a political point on this.
What they said ^. I'm even part of the high bracket and don't feel the need to make snide comments. One would assume everyone under 21 is in the lowest income bracket, the only thing this is "telling" of is young people sleep in. I hope that isn't a shocking development for anybody.
Yeah. A lot of rich people wake up early on their days off to play golf or go boating. People with lower incomes often have to work more grueling hours, so they use their days off to rest and recover. :) See? Things can be spun both ways.
When someone says, "Very telling," it's very much left open for interpretation. I don't think I was being snide--I just hope salli7 isn't trying to draw a conclusion having to do with motivation and drive based on what time someone wakes up in the morning!
The funny thing about be getting out of bed after 9 AM is that I'm usually not in bed until after 9 AM on weekends.
Must be nice. We still have the old 2am last call thing here - it's like going back in time... or to Kansas.
What is there to discuss about on this topic? Nobody cares about the reasons why anyways.
The only way I'm getting up after 9am I would have to be super sick with a very high fever throwing up cuz I do everything in my house for my dad 62 and little brother 19 my brother and my brother can do soooo much more but no he is super lazy
till 1 pm
Rich people get up earlier? Their lives should be easier.
Richer people are likely to have a work history, making them form the habit of waking up early. As long, their wealth likely came over time, and older individuals need less sleep. Those habits built over time are hard to break.
Also*... not "as long"
I have certain co-inhabitants of my home that prohibit such "sleeping in," as you call it.
Listen , I don't care.
Well I live in America where freedom of speech is allowed. You see America is a communist free country unlike china where you might live.
If you were able to read, then you would see that I am from Illinois. I'm not keeping you from stating your mind either, if you don't like it, or don't care, you're FREE to leave.
Araz, that made NO SENSE AT ALL. What were you thinking when you posted that??
@ beeney am I free to leave or do I have to GTFO??
Just like a democrat can't make up your mind.
Never said you HAD to do anything. They're called question marks.
I'm sure GTFO sounded nice and polite in your head.
@ Beeney I still don't care
I'm a housewife with no kids. I could sleep in until noon if I wanted. (I babysit at 1:30 pm.) But I'm a morning person. I naturally wake up at 5 am. I
Naturally by alarm clock.
Nope. I don't use an alarm clock.
I have kids. I would sleep in but they like getting up early
Republicans go to church on the weekend.
The older I get the earlier I seem to rise. I guess because now I go to bed instead of partying all night :-)
I never sleep past 5 hours unless I'm sick. I usually sleep from around 1230am to 530am. If I don't have anything to do, I might go lay on the couch and watch television until I can think of something to do. 30 is to young to be sleeping all day.
After kids nobody can say after 8 even!
Never after nine, ever! I have been a lark all of my life :-)
