At the current rate that Donald Trump is signing executive orders there will be a projected 476 in total if he makes it for 8 years. Does the number of executive orders have anything to do with a president’s quality?

No, what matters is the type and content of the executive orders in question.

No, but the quality of them does. This president is picking up speed in reverse. No surprise there.

The use of EO’s is an reflection on the Executive Branch’s failure to work with Congress. Telling in light of the fact that Congress is a Republican majority.

Do you lean left?
If so, then you should love Trumps use of EO.

Well, that makes absolutely no sense.

Sure it does.
You hate Republicans.
EO’s circumvent Congress.
Republicans hold the majority.
Trump may issue near 500 EO’s in 8 years.
Trump is fighting Republicans.

A lot of his executive orders are simply reversals of Obama’s executive orders.

If anyone is curious where the number came from:

President Trump has signed 52 executive orders after 0.873 years in office. 52/0.873x8=476 (rounded down).

Also some contextual information:
This would be the most since Eisenhower
Obama signed 276
Bush (43) signed 291
Clinton signed 364
FDR signed 3728

Are you thinking that the more EO’s, the worse the president?

Then that makes FDR the worst of them all by far...

Oh that’s definitely not what I’m arguing, I was arguing the contrary that the number of executive orders have nothing to do with a president’s performance.

Btw, I mentioned the number of executive orders FDR had in my little note up there but it got cut off!
