Do beggars on the street use the money for food and necessities or for drugs/booze?
Both, everyone is different.
I never give them money. I ask them if they’re aware of services that are available and then I donate to reputable nonprofits.
Oh is that what we’re doing this evening? Asking blanket questions?
It’s always in fashion
Moonbeam ... it appears you’re having trouble answering those questions.
I think both. Some also use the money for places to stay overnight.
The strangest story I’ve heard was about a woman who begged outside of a hamburger restaurant, then when people gave her burgers she used them to heat up her sleeping bag.
Once we went to a Taco Bell on Market street in San Francisco And they accidentally gave us an extra taco. We didn’t want it so brought it outside and laid it down on a bench. It was gone so fast we didn’t even see who got it.
I gave a homeless guy a sandwich once and he looked upset.
How can anyone k ow that unless they are indeed a beggar?
Well I used to know a guy whose mom helped out with the homeless. He said she would never give them money because she knew they would just use it on drugs.
Some do, I’m sure. One time at an outside Starbucks, a guy was begging for a dollar for food. So, the guy in front of me said of you are hungry, I’ll give you this bagel I just bought. The beggar refused and got really mad. Then again, I’ve had people in my family ask me for money for food and I didn’t have cash so I took them
To the store and bought a few grocery items for them. I guess you never know.
Don't know and don't care. I don't give them money.
Every now and then you go and sneak in a reasonable comment somewhere. I’m on to you pal, you’re not such a bad guy.
I can always appreciate a guy who minds his own business, no matter the form. ✌🏻
I don’t know and I don’t care. I give them the money.
It depends on the individual.
