Artists gifted and wealthy enough sell their original art in their own gallery and often have a "no photography " sign. If you were an artist, would you have such a sign?

I'm just trying to imagine an artist who can afford such a sign.

Of course not.
Why wouldn't I want people to enjoy my works?

Nah. I'd be the Jerry Garcia of the art world. If I had my own gallery, I'd already have enough money.

If you created art would you want everyone taking pictures of it and selling mugs, postcards, t-shirts, etc.? Also, flash photography damages paintings. If an artist creates valuable pieces they have every right to do as they please.

Yes, I would. I'd make a copyright claim and get millions in royalties.

I don’t think I’d care

No, I'd *encourage* photography.
Put it on social media, it only makes me more widely known.
I'd only hang a sign that requests they post my name when putting it online.
