Did you receive a flu vaccine? If not allergic or anything, comment why not.

No. The shots are often ineffective and I don't trust that there aren't harmful ingredients. Besides, I don't get the flu. And regarding the herd, I'm not a sheep or cattle...let them fend for themselves.

Of course. Contributing to the health of the herd is a social responsibility, and keeping myself healthy is a goal. Getting the flu shot is a small part of doing both.

Because I don't like medication, and I haven't gotten sick in 10 years. Though this year was a combo-breaker, I got the common cold for two days.

I didn’t get it yet. I’m allergic to one of the components that they use sometimes so it’s a pain to ensure it’s not used this year before I get it. I have a physical tomorrow though so maybe I’ll get it then.

Hopefully you can get it. If not, remember to take your vitamin c.

I've only gotten the flu once. The one time I had a flu shot. Never again.

You can’t get the flu from a flu shot.

Thank you. I didnt have time to go on about it. Besides, in my experience, if you think that then there is no changing your mind. I dont have the time or energy. Also, if you refuse the flu shot, as a nurse im not allowed to coerce you and that means less charting for me. Hurrah!

I should correct myself. It didn't give me the flu per-se but I got very sick after I got it. I just don't get the shot and I don't get the flu. I'm not some whacko anti-vaxxer.

Im just curious...is "very sick" body aches, joint pains, low grade temp. That's called malaise, which is easily remedied by ibuprofen and water. Im not attacking, just educating because some people think that that is being very sick and its just your body building up immunity. Also, the vaccine is only really effective if you get it every year. Its a pain in the ass to explain all this to folks. Its easier for you and me if you just get the flu unless you are elderly.

Oh gosh, I'll be honest I don't remember what it did to me. I probably got it last when I went to college when I was 17. So we're talking 15 years ago.
