White people who are poor tend to be poor because of laziness or lack of morals. Black people who are poor tend to be poor because of bad lack and history. Agree or disagree?

The way you worded your poll as a statement, and it agrees with all your comments about this subject during your time on SOH.

I need a Mercedes! Who cares if I live in a trash heap of a house or can't afford to buy clothes or food for my kids. As long as I maintain my 350lb frame, we all good.

I know this is racist as all hell, but it is something I have observed some black families do over the last 30 years.

There is no reason to be poor. I haven’t heard one excuse that makes someone poor that they can’t work to overcome. That’s true for all races.

Only if they are brain dead or have some other type of physical ailment that prevents them from working. Most are not interested in joining the rat race. You have to have motivation and goals.

For most people in this economic status the motivation is simply to put food on the table

Whether black or white, poor people don’t have the opportunities that wealthy people have. Everything is affected for poor people: health, education, etc. Laziness plays a very small factor.

That is also true. It is harder to work yourself up than it is to maintain.

The former is true for both whites and blacks as well as any other color.

Hard work is necessary to success but hard work does not guarantee success.

no.. poverty is a vicious cycle that anyone can get trapped in regardless of race. black people are just majorly disproportionately affected by it due to our history

I agree. The question is a huge and inappropriate simplification.
