Do you have any serious but irrational fears?

I fear panic attacks. I never understood that until I had one. It’s probably not entirely irrational however. Also, the occult freaks me out. Flying too.
Nope. All my fears are rational 😂
I️ have a phobia of spiders. I️ was bitten by a brown recluse and almost died years ago. I️ still struggle with spiders, even the Harry Potter giant spiders freaked me out.
Hillary will run for president again.
You should stop worrying. Worry more about what our current president does and maybe you will be able to slowly extricate your head from your ass. 😁
What does worrying about anything the current president does have to do with me never wanting to see Hillary run again?
HRC is a political nobody right now. She isn’t and will never be president. If you’re seriously worried about her becoming president you’re delusional.
I can’t stand being out on open water.
Let’s see what commotion I can make with this fear:
Democrats overrunning the country
Public speaking, death, crowds, being homeless/broke
Heights too. I was always afraid I'd be climbing a ladder or something like that and have a seizure. And fall. I've had a couple walking down the stairs
I’m seriously afraid of being attacked by zombies.
I've always wanted a pet zombie
A la Sean of the Dead?
Caves.. I can’t ever watch someone on tv go into one
Heights and cockroaches 😱
I have a fear of dying and not being found for weeks.
Emetopobia. Vomit doesn’t just gross me out, I’m scared of it.
I have actually been diagnosed with clinical OCD. I have irrational fears coming out of my ears.
NEEDLES. 💉But all I do is cry a little and that's it. 😂
Nope. They're very rational.
Babies make me incredibly uncomfortable
I have an irrational fear of beans. Leguminophobia.
I do t know if it’s irrational but I am really afraid of crossing bridges. I’m not afraid of heights I’m just afraid of it collapsing on me.
Don’t go over the Chesapeake bridge in Maryland. Seriously freaked me out and I have no problems with bridges. 4 mikes long. Narrow. Single bar separating me from death below etc
That's a big NOPE
When I was a kid I wouldn’t wear anything with buttons. Thank god I got over that one.
I also was deeply disturbed by vomit (like, seeing other people throwing up). I know that’s really weird. Doesn’t bother me the way it used to.
I've gotten much better about it but I was batshit terrified of skunks when I was younger
Heights. I would say spiders once upon time, but now as long as I know there not the poisonous kind and they stay on the ceiling, I let them kill any flys and other insects for me.
They touch the ground and those bastards die.
For me if I see them they die. Otherwise as long as they aren't harassing me they live.
Touching the ground is a form of harassment and I will not stand for it!!
I wouldn’t call that one irrational.
Wasps. Ugh, i can’t stand them.
Spider webs. But It’s not as bad as it used to be ....
No. I have faced my fears and they like me this way.
I don’t know if it’s irrational, but I have a fear of bugs.
I fear nothing
Public speaking, but I have gotten a lot better at it as I have had to do it more.
Fun fact: public speaking is the number 1 fear of Americans. To paraphrase an old Seinfeld joke, people would rather be in the casket at a funeral than to give the eulogy.
Ha right there with you.
Spiders and other leggy creatures!
Being alone in a room with children
Walking sticks and grasshoppers!
Going to the dentist
I don’t consider fear of going to the dentist as irrational. Lol!
Lol! True. But I have to be sedated in order for any kind of work (other than cleanings or x-rays) to be done or my butt is not getting in that chair. That’s probably a bit irrational. 😳😜
I had them put me under conscious sedation (Propofol) to replace a crown. Hahaha!
😂 I can totally relate! Need somebody to drive you home after a dental appointment, right?! Sounds like we feel the same way about going to the dentist.
Ay object in my home catching on fire while I sleep. And when I say any object, I literally mean any random thing.
And vomit, I'd consider that more a legitimate phobia than a fear
Any insects crawling in any orifice, but especially bees. Somewhat rational though. When I was younger a bee flew in my ear and was there for a good minute and it freaked me the hell out.
I suffer from sidonglobophobia (fear of cotton balls), but it’s not so much a fear as an aversion. Just thinking about them while typing this is giving me goose bumps and making me feel queasy.
I’m curious: what if you see a Christmas display that uses torn up cotton balls as fake snow? Or sheets that are made of the same kind of cotton but they’re not in ball form?
Another interesting fear. Never heard of such.
I have this aversion only when thinking about touching cotton balls. I hate their texture, that weird sensation/sound when squeezing them 🤢
Ok, don’t squeeze them. Haha...jk 😉
In terms of irrational fears, I have a fear that my xiphoid process will be broken off my sternum and cause me to die from organ damage.
I used to have a fear of my hyoid bone being broken during a choke when I did Jiu-jitsu
Fear of being in closed in spaces. I can’t even tolerate a cast on my arm or leg. I pray I never need to have an MRI
You can make it through an MRI if you keep your eyes closed the entire time and NEVER open them until you're out of the machine. They also give you headphones with music that helps, too.
I can only do open MRIs, and they still freak me out. The idea of having to have a cast, especially a body cast, or a breathing tube...I think those would put me over the edge.
Red balloons, paper boats, sewers, and yellow raincoats
Those are some very interesting fears
