The floodgates are open in sexual assault allegations against men. Do you foresee the same thing happening against women?
The difference is, Men enjoy being sexually harassed.😉
Pffft. If a man is sexually harassed by a woman, all he needs to do is smack her little ass and tell her to cool it.
I️ mean I’ve been harassed before, but I’m anonymous here. I️ couldn’t ever see myself going public about that.
I don't see it happening.
It would take a strong man/men to come out publicly with sexual allegations against a woman. I don’t see it happening.
Unlikely, but it is interesting when there are powerful men around you see a bevy of beauties. Sometime it seems young attractive women flock around the rich and powerful like bees around honey. Maybe that should be highlighted.
Unlikely, but if it happens it will be a rare occurrence. As for sexual harassment....I had to file a civil case against my employer because of my female boss once. I’m not getting into details...she was fired. I had another female boss that I reported to HR and refused to be alone with.
Also....the Al Franken thing? It’s unfortunate & disappointing....but leave women out of it for a minute. Most male veterans can tell you stories about what happens when you fall asleep in random places....which happens every day. Far worse things were done to me and everyone else to each other. I’m not excusing Al. And.....we never would do this to a woman. But holy crap.....there are photos out there of me......and my shipmates.....that would easily derail my political career. Waaaaaaay beyond Franken.
BTW-what’s the story behind your new photo?
Al is a creep
My story is I had several women in my life that I consider my mentors and some of my women employees that I thought highly of. But one women, Valarie Z was a monster. She called her child the Kid, she flex her manager muscle without warrant. I didn’t go to HR but I knew she was a short termer. Her attitude was that she was a woman and the boss and you better obey. I stopped talking to my boss. Most women and men I knew hated a woman boss for some reason.
Squid, I was in Manzanillo. Every morning and afternoon, the Mexican military would train on the beach. One afternoon, I missed as they ran by, and I got caught (by my sister) trying to get a good look.
👍🏼. Fun pic. 😀
Squid: I used to walk into the shop and see someone hanging from the lights with their pants down around their ankles and their junk hanging out pretty regularly. The movie "Waiting" came out right around the time I joined and it was all the rage to show someone else your balls. I never participated in such fuckery but it was an almost daily occurrence.
This x1000. Bubbleheads are the raunchiest most gonzo people I’ve ever been around. I’m sure we could swap some great stories.
I'm surface Navy but it was an all male (with the exception of 2 female officers) and the senior guys gave no fucks. They would go into extreme detail about their current girlfriends and wouldn't stop when I asked them to. They would often be watching porn on their computers and have the sound blasting. That was just the culture of the military at the time.
Probably not assault, but harassment I can see. There’s already a huge double standard when it comes to what’s given a pass in modern entertainment, for example. On SNL, for example, you’ll see them constantly make jokes about men being ugly or probably having small penises. The other week I saw Leslie Jones explicitly say that she watches Yankees games to stare at the players’ butts in their tight uniforms. If this had happened the other way around, we’d see editorials the next day about rape culture and how female athletes should not be objectified. (I’m not saying the editorial would be bad but we need consistency.)
Jamming his tongue down her throat is assault.
@rons, did you reply to the wrong comment?
Nope, Franken was accused of that by the lady who breast he fondled.
No. It isn’t politically popular. Women score way more victim points than men.
There are a few male users on the app that have said they were sexually harassed before. I hope they stop by.
We have tougher skin.
I’ve never been offended by a joke or even an overt come on. I told a women “no thank you” in the past week.
Men hold all the positions of power so probably not, but I’m glad women are coming out...all the power to them.
You’re probably right.
Earlybird touched me inappropriately.
I couldn’t stand all the begging.
I’m laughing, but I have a sneaking suspicion that this is how Franken got into trouble. 😬
Oh my goodness dear EB, THAT is SO FUNNY!
Can you sexually assault the willing? 🤔
I have a friend who told me about how he went to a party, had a drink, and then woke up to a woman having sex with him. He didn't want it at all. He had no clue who this woman was. It does happen to men. I bet there is a lot of guys that have had this happen to them.
Yep. I think there’s a stigma against men reporting it.
How did he go from having a drink to waking up with the woman. Did he have a lot more than one drink or did someone slip a drug into his drink.
Is he sure it was a woman?
Assuming the other person was on top of him, he should know if he was facing up or down. He had to be really drunk or drugged to not know.
He said he had a some beer and the next thing that he remembers he was on the floor naked, and this girl was on top of him doing things to him. He said he knew it was a woman because she was topless..he was to weak/drunk/under the influence to get her to stop.
He thinks someone put something in his drink. Because he went from drinking a beer to not remembering anything and then waking up on the floor naked. He says it was rape because he didn't consent
I believe it.
I believe him too. He said that he woke up slightly during the act, but he was too weak to do anything about it. He verbally told the woman to get off of him....but she didn't. He blacked out after a couple minutes of that.
If he was so blacked out I wonder if he could perform to please her.
...or himself(?)! 😯
Not in the same way, but women definitely abuse power and inflict emotional abuse in their own way.
I️ don’t think that will ever come to light as obviously or with the nearly unanimous revulsion of the current sex abuse scandals because it is much harder to identify and explain as a pattern of behavior, and because the damage it does is viewed very differently.
If there's money to be had.
It undoubtedly is happening now, by definition, but guys welcome it too much.
I can see it happening but to a lesser degree.
Who would you expect to be accused?
I agree. I imagine there are a few factors at play. I think men are much less likely to be sexually harassed, perhaps because:
A) Women hold far fewer positions of control, power, and authority over men ('Wife' would be the exception!). What we’ve been hearing most of lately, pertain to that specific power dynamic;
B) Of the men who could make a legitimate sexual assault claim, I think a far lesser percentage of men than women would actually come forward, IMO, if for no other reason than a mix of male pride and cultural stigma.
I have a gut sense that far more men would consider sexual harassment/assault by a woman to be less a violation, and more an invitation, but I really don’t have a way to quantify that...😊
Tom, I don’t have anyone in mind. I believe there could be a backlash of men who will see this as an opportunity to say “ hey, it’s happened to me too.”
I was accused of on the job, sexual harassment once by an angry guy when I terminated him.
Of course it didn’t go anywhere but it really shook me up.
He said that I wore my skirts too short and that he shouldn’t have been forced to see that every day.
Our company had a strict dress code and my skirts were never to short.
You should have told him it was an employee benefit, LOL. Sorry just joking of course.
We have a lady at work wearing skirts so short it's not much more than a wide belt. She's in the group Gonzo mentions where it would not be a violation, but a welcome invitation. Unfortunately for me she's married. Well I can still enjoy the view 😛
I can imagine it was shocking to be falsely accused, like any other false accusation.
Also agree with all the points Gonzo mentions.
I agree w gonzo too. 🤗
Thank you Tom, and my dear EB! Love to both, and may you have a BEAUTIFUL weekend!
