For the last 20 years, Congress has paid its sexual harassment settlements from a special fund which is funded by We The People. Since 1997 theyโ€™ve spent $17,000,000 of our money. Good use of your tax dollars?

Disgusting perverts. Some people still wonder why our society sucks.

And we will spend more to investigate Al Franken,

Joke!

Yes.

We elected these people. We put them into positions that have them power to act on their worst impulses, or appoint people who may do so.

If we dislike paying out money for sexual harassment claims, then we might want to take more care in who we elect.

The victims deserve compensation at the very least.

The abusers should be named, shamed and removed from office.

If the evidence were sufficient to get a child expelled from school (er, ah, banned from a mall) it’s credible enough to remove a politician from office.

The mall owner said Moore was not banned from the mall.

What matters is what the mall’s manager or the head of security says. I can’t imagine a corporate owner would’ve known.

So you’re not interested in the truth?

I don’t believe you know the truth, but go ahead and send me a link from a credible source. MSNBC, Fox News, Breitbart and it’s like are slanted in the case of the first two and the latter are known to print lies.

Show me what you got. What you believe to be the truth will tell me all I need to know about you, even if it tells me nothing about Roy Moore.

I don’t have the link at my fingertips but I’m surprised you haven’t seen it on the news.

Show me a link to support your statement. Let me see what you’ve got and it might tell us all something about you.

I don’t claim to know the truth but you don’t either. I do know that the mall manager at the time says it didn’t happen.

You just indicated above that what was important was what the mall manager said so I assume you’ve changed your stance.

I agree, neither of us know the truth. I believe the mall manager is being truthful.

I also believe the twelve sources who said they remembered a ban, including two local police officers, were truthful. Some of those twelve were unsure it was a formal ban.

My conclusion is that someone told Moore he was unwelcome at the mall and involved the police, but never took formal steps via corporate policy or the law. The “ban“ was likely a semi bluff to deter Moore from harassing young women.

Some on Fox news even said he needs to drop out of the race. In Washington too. All he has is Alabama

Not a good use of our money. The payouts were for settlements of all types of harassment and discrimination complaints, not just sexual. Interesting that 80% of those exploring this option ended up not pursuing it.

Why does this even exist? What politician out there is too poor to hire a lawyer? They can hire their own.

I think what’s been happening recently as the victims of sexual assault and harassment are being empowered to come forward is a good first step. We need to be able to hear their voices now, not shame them and intimidate them into waiting nearly forty years.

Next, we need to not give those engaged in harassment and assault positions of power. And not just Republicans. We Democrats turned a blind eye to Bill Clinton and gave him the presidency despite obvious misconduct. We still pay a lot of money and treat him well when he speaks.

Beyond that, I don’t really know.

Horrible use of our hard earned money.
I’m being forced to pay over $1,000 per month for health care and when I hear about things like this, it really angers me. ๐Ÿ˜ก
