A US District Court judge in Philadelphia issued a preliminary injunction Wednesday barring the Justice Department from withholding over $1 million in crime-fighting grants over cities' sanctuary city policies. Do you agree with this ruling?

Yeah right… the city saying you must give us money and saying that to the federal government. What a crock

And the reason given is ludicrous. It will be overturned.

I wouldn’t be so sure.

It’s such a simple concept that the left is befuddled by it. You break the law, you pay the consequences.

Think...The law says that cities are not required to comply with immigration detainers. Why is this such a hard concept for the right?

Polster ... thank you for so quickly proving my point.

Think...How does it make sense to punish city governments because ICE can’t do its job effectively?

Polster ... we have a common cause. The better question is why should the citizens of this country — who voted for more protection from illegal alien invaders — reward any jurisdiction who is undermining that common cause?

Think...Federal immigration law is enforced by the federal government only. It’s not the job of state and local governments to enforce federal immigration law.

Polster ... you sidestepped the question.

Polster ... I’ll answer your question and will await your answer.

The cities who refuse to cooperate with federal law enforcement are not being penalized for the feds inability to enforce. They are being held to account for their unwillingness to cooperate.

I get that your parents never held you accountable, that’s likely why you don’t get it. You believe that cities should be rewarded by the feds even when they refuse to cooperate and that refusal to cooperate puts citizens’ lives in danger.

I say, cities are free to disregard law and should not be surprised by the consequences that follow from that lack of cooperation. You see, it’s a two way street.

Think...To answer your question, the majority of citizens in jurisdictions with sanctuary city policies support those policies.

Think...Cities aren't forced to comply with ICE detainer requests. They've always been voluntary. That's why federal judges are saying that the Justice Department cannot legally withhold law enforcement funding from sanctuary cities. No law has been broken by these cities.

Polster ... voluntary is a two way street. You see, like any petulant child, leftist dominated sanctuary cesspools don’t want to Cooper but feel they shouldn’t have to deal with the consequences of their unwillingness to cooperate.

Typical!

Think...These grants can’t be denied on the basis of a jurisdiction exercising its right to not honor detainer requests. Such a denial of grant money is arbitrary. That’s why the courts have called it unconstitutional.

Polster ... thanks for confirming that you believe that localities should be allowed to be irresponsible and still benefit from the largess of the rest of the citizens.

We disagree. You want our tax dollars, you abide by our laws. You don’t want to abide by our laws, then don’t expect to be rewarded.
