Mars, Mars, yet more Mars. Private companies like SpaceX promise to get there soon, NASA has plans for the mid 2030s. Human boots on Mars before 2040?
Within 10 years of JFK setting the country toward the moon, we were there. Granted, I recognize it's not as clean of a comparison between going to the moon and going to mars, but the same sentiment is true. We're on our way there.
Bon voyagé, write soon!
Yeah, I wish 😄
I’d say it’s highly likely.
I don't see any point to it when we've got enough problems here on Earth to solve.
A classic Luddite argument I refute in a heartbeat.
Ever heard of spinoff technology?
Space exploration helps us here on Earth, besides expanding our horizon.
Want the UAE to colonize it?
I'm more likely to believe the private companies will achieve this milestone than a government bureaucracy. The free market has and will always be more efficient than than the public tax devourers.
So long as space travel remains cost efficient. Otherwise, it'll have to be a government entity who does. But I think at this rate, it'll be a private company.
Btw...NASA pushed that to 2035
Yes, I said MID2030s, not 2030 😏
I'm not sure but optimistic this will indeed happen before 2040.
