Your party's candidate for the Senate is accused by a non-politician and fellow party member of a pedophilia act committed several years prior. No way to prove/disprove before election, and no way to get new candidate. Do you vote for him/her anyhow?

What I’d really like is for some people to do the same with the Mendez case.

I'm inclined not to vote for him. I understand that those allegations are almost always true. Nevertheless, the timing is suspicious. I would ponder how has he behave since being a public figure.

Yes. If turns out he’s guilty, he can be impeached and another election can be run. If turns out he’s innocent, to deny him office based on false accusations is irreparable.

Statute of limitations. Can't prosecute.

Civil lawsuit, yes but criminal case has no limitations

That depends - one accusation, I would pay close attention to the accusation itself - does it seem legit.

If, as is often the case, more come forward, and there is little evidence that they politically motivated, he loses my vote and I abstain or vote for a different candidate.

Odds are that I would not vote for him.

There is only one claim of any sexual impropriety against Moore. The others were of age, and denied having physical contact with him.

Always ignore accusations 60 days before election, as they are usually politically motivated.

Always? That doesn't make sense.

Always. They are politically motivated and should be ignored.

You are a fool. If politicians had voters as ignorant as you they'd never lose.

Explain why you would believe a “scandal” that pops up just as the elections come around.

Are you so gullible that you would follow the narrative like a sheep?

I would have until I heard him address the issues. I heard that last night. Now, no. I would not vote for him.

If the opposing candidate is unacceptable, I'll vote third party or abstain from voting on that position.

I'd vote for him because if the crime was true his position wouldn't stop him from being arrested. And we could remove him after the fact.

Sorry. Should have mentioned statute of limitations has passed. No legal challenge forthcoming.

Lol. still doesn't change my argument.

Feel like no one was talking about statute of limitations till I brought it up in the moore case

I honestly think this is the opposition actually trying to change Alabama's sexual assault laws. And really and truly has little to do with the gentleman being accused of such crimes.

Accusations got Clinton re-elected and trump elected. The American people love drama.

JL - don't make me post my comment on pivoting to actions of others. Please address this issue with this person only. Thanks!

No problem. But t you did not mention any specific candidate in the question. I was only highlighting the fact that both parties have this issue with their candidates.
