Do you usually have enough supplies to last one week after a natural disaster?
Water purifier, rope, tactical knife, hatchet, machete, waterproof field/edibles guides, AR15, and ammo. All in one bag, so yes!
Also a katana, you know... for walkers.
I’m ready for anything that comes my way. Did fine last time, will do fine next time.
If you say yes, you're probably wrong.
Nope, I'd be dead in 3 days from dehydration if my faucet stopped running and nobody gave me any. And I get all my food from the school dining hall, so if they ran out of food/water, I'd also starve.
Only if I murder my parents as soon as shit hits the fan.
May I introduce you you put apocalypse room. There's a lovely plot of land three hours out of town with back up and acts as a meet up for a select group of antidisestablishmentarians should the need arise.
Keep my backpack ready for a hike or for an earthquake lol, whichever comes first
In this house, I have to room to store more canned and frozen food. We usually have a pretty good supply. We also have chickens that are laying about a dozen eggs every 2 days.
Well yeah. Everyone should.
How often do you people go to the grocery store?
Every few days for perishables. But my daily food is separate from my emergency food.
Do you mix the two?
No, but if you don’t have enough food I hand for even a week, that means you’re regularly going to the grocery store multiple times per week just to have meals.
No, we’re going to the grocery store multiple times per week because we have kids who go through a lot of fresh food and milk. If we didn’t want fresh food we could simply go downstairs to the deep freezer for the next month.
You’re confusing preference with ability.
Not at all. I just find it odd to go to the grocery store that often.
Like winters of buying one pound of beef/gallon of milk/pound of apples on Monday and another on Thursday, why not just buy two pounds/gallons on Monday?
Rather than* buying. Autocorrect is getting out of hand...
I buy four gallons of milk on Monday. And another four on Thursday.
I don’t want to buy another fridge just to keep two weeks or a months worth of fresh food.
But if Godzilla attacks the city, I could close the front door and not come out for several months.
For me, yes. For anyone else, no. I can live on chips and beer. Other people are like....I need breakfast food, lunch food, and dinner food. Water. Soda. And Tea. I'm like whatever. Pretzels. Water. And Beer it is.
Could go on indefinitely. I've been a prepper for years...
My fam keeps an extra 200 gallons of water, a generator and food supplies
I question myself on the water as I don’t buy bottled water to keep in the house. If you come to my house it’s all being filtered here and we have a fridge full of pre-filled reusable water bottles. I don’t know how long that would last, I assume a week as there is a lot of water in there and I would ration it for a disaster.
I had 10 one gallon bottles for six days without electricity or water.
For drinking, fine.
For the toilet, meh - it doesn't always flush without pressure.
Water the plants, fine.
Cooking, not possible, electric range.
Washing, no. Skunk time 😨
Why yes, yes I do.
I just imagine a nuclear shelter in your backyard 😸
Well, I’m not that prepared! I actually only have an apricot tree and a barbecue out back.
I had to answer no (maybe three days) BUT since our major peril in the FL keys is hurricanes, I'd stock up like I did for Wilma and Irma. Enough time to prepare here.
