Didn’t know he invented it but he sure was in the biz.

He didn't and thanks to your reply I looked it up. It's lost in history and very old. What I posted is a misremembrance of Tom's commercials on WOR back in the early 70s.

May be Lib. That's a while ago. They had a lineup of big name hosts, but my favorite was The Jean Shepherd Show. Most people know him as the. Writer and narrator of A Christmas Movie, but that movie was a compilation of some of his talk show episodes.

No sweat. If you're familiar with the TV channel I take it you've lived in NYC?

Point of interest. Jean Shepherd was the only man to be listed in Who's Who In American Women (because of the spelling of his first name.)

You live in an area of Conn close to the city?

When I was a young man working in Hartford I had family who'd visit the city and I would put clothes in my backpack, take the train, and camp out in the Hilton.

As a kid, my family used to visit an aunt & uncle in Hartford. It was always a sleepover. Presently, I live 75 miles from the Empire State Building, 56 miles from Hartford.

That's quite a trek in that traffic. I was never in the city much. A high school visit, those I already told you of, a couple of trade shows, a week trip to see the Macy's parade and a week at a business school. Loved the restaurants and shows.

Yes, it would be a two hour commute by car. I worked in Manhattan from ages 16 to 38.

You mean the best ice cream to exist, yes I've heard of it.
