If jurors fall asleep during the testimony of a trial should that be grounds for a mistrial?

No. That's why there are alternate jurors.

In the case of a guilty verdict, yes.

On the last jury I️ sat on, the judge would doze off every single day after our lunch break. Not even the lawyers did anything about it.

I wouldn’t blame them. Judges are powerful people, especially to an attorney.

I blame them a lot. It’s their job to stand up for their client and make sure they have a fair trial.

True, but their abilities can only go so far. A defense attorney is fighting an uphill battle when the judge and prosecutor have the same employer, which is the same entity that can prohibit said attorney from doing his job altogether.
