Why do you think there's so much hate between the left and the right?
The fact that one wants to take the others money may have something to do with it.
The people that blame everything on the other side. Many examples below ⬇️
And probably above ⬆️
Social Media allows for more propaganda and false narratives to be seen.
The media and politicians fuel division and fools fall for it. It is the goal of propaganda.
It’s the result of an us vs. them mentality perpetuated by the people in power of both parties because such extreme polarization makes it more likely for the vote to go to the party the individual most aligns with, even if it’s just to prevent the other party from winning, rather than any significant agreement with the platform of the party or candidate.
I think it is because somewhere along the line BOTH parties have forgotten that “we the people” are the government and have a responsibility to the common good of the country. Instead the politicians on both sides pander to a small power base (I.e financial donors) so we no longer have people representing the average citizen. Add social media, a few extreme opinions, some stupidity and now the average American is over overlooked. We have lost site of the big picture and argue to much over the stupid crap. Politicians are smart enough to take advantage of that for their own power, and the problem worsens.
Nobody listens to each other
Because we constantly ascribe bad motives to each other. Republicans say that all Democrats are lazy hippies who pander to minorities for votes and hate America and freedom. Democrats say that Republicans are racist sexist bigoted homophobes clinging to their guns and religion and are a bunch of hicks who have no heart.
Pretty accurate. Not a good thing.😒
There isn't. It's all show for you idiots. The fact is they all agree: steak and lie.
The Left think they are superior to everyone else and cannot stand the thought of losing power. They encourage chaos to convince everyone else that their leadership is needed.
They also encourage dependency on government.
@harry, many feel the right think they are superior.
Both have issues with that. Both parties are power hungry and arrogant.
Tech, neither side is perfect, or totally sincere, but one side seems a little more desperate to slander the other. Although a constant source of fascination, I find Politics to be unclean, overall.
You are correct that the right seems way to desperate tsk slander the other side. I can’t think think of a day in the last few weeks, even on this little app, where I have not seen liberalism referred to as a mental illness or my new favorite “don’t like it, then move” and so forth.
Here is the deal, I am a moderate, and independent with views from both sides of the issue. Being caught in the middle has raised my awareness of just how “at fault” and how similar both sides are. Until both sides see that, we will remain in the political stalemate the country is currently in and getting deeper into.
A lot of it is because platforms are built on killing the opposition instead of helping us.
Because the left has been pushing for insanity and there's no compromise with those who aren't willing to comprise.
For fucks sake how do you compromise with someone who won't accept the fact there's only 2 genders and illegal immigrants are breaking the law
You can't! They are not rational, but are only unthinking ideologues.
Because compromise is seen as weakness, so no one can even talk anymore.
Shortsightedness and hate.
Because people like treating the political parties like their favorite sports team rivalry instead of treating them like the people that run the fucking country
Completely opposite world views. Democrats want a benevolent government deciding on what is good and bad and taking care of everyone that is funded by taxes on the rich. Republicans want a less intrusive government. So, Democrats think that Republicans are evil because who wouldn’t want a government run utopia with free stuff and no poor people? And Republicans think Democrats are stupid because they think government is corrupt and inefficient.
Do you align with one of those sides?
Yes I’m a Republican obviously
Well then, I would wager you know jack about what liberals and/or democrats want beyond what you have been told by other republicans, or what you have imagined based on the biased misinformation that you feed on.
My point is - don’t assume.
Actually I probably know more Democrats than Republicans. I’m pretty familiar with what they want. I do live in California you know.
Sorry, not buying it. If the people you know actually think that the government will save them, they are either very young or very stupid: The functional equivalent of those on the right who have “opinions” but zero knowledge of any facts on which to base those “opinions”.
Bloody willfully ignorant fools the lot of them.
Because their side is stupid. Duh.
Identitarian politics, including division into the left and right.
By that I mean what's considered left and right in American politics.
Well, with few exceptions, I would say this comment section illustrates the problem.
That’s what the people in power want. Divide us and make us afraid of each other. Easier for media to make advertising $. Easier for politicians to control us. Tell them all to pound sand.
Agreed. Apparently it’s really easy to divide people though so not sure how it will get better without an external catalyst like war or something
One of the only sensible answers here. 👍
Obviously because the Right is made up of poopy heads...
The young left is raised as getting everything they want, lest they cry, stomp, or sue.
They never ask where things come from.
They are always pissed if at America as of there's done massive conspiracy designed to keep them from living a caviar lifestyle for no work, like an episode of Kardashians.
Whatever they get or happens, they will never be satisfied or happy.
That indicates something about mindset and psychology.
And it's recent. The leftie dem of today is not JFKennedy's voters. I blame LBJ (implementing many programs based on Marxist thought) and the Clintons (they figured out best how to use and profit from the system and make it grow).
It’s because they refuse to meet in the middle and try to find some common ground. Both sides are incredibly beholden to their ideology and refuse to budge.
Both sides kinda hype eachother up to hate the other side. Just yesterday I was watching the, "info wars 1 year maga anniversary" thing, forgetting the fact that it was propaganda, it was so incredibly divisive. I'm sure the left has many of those as well. People need to get out and meet people with different views and not just assume they hate them. I can't tell you how many times I've has decent conversations with someone who's views were COMPLETELY different from mine by simply starting the conversation making it clear we're both equal. like saying, "I don't agree at all, but I respect your views", and stuff like that.
The left and the msm can’t stand being out of power. They go nuts
Media bias and exaggeration, failure to consider both viewpoints in social issues, and a numbers game that politicians like to play.
Both political parties have to hide the fact that they are both the same and only in it for themselves by inciting hatred for the other side.
The left has spent many years getting us to where we are.
Obama spent 8 years dividing the country by race, sex, religion, politics, wealth, etc. this is what they wanted.
I dislike Obama. But I believe that people that blame everything on the other party are the real problem.
Take a look at the last 8 years and tell me that it didn’t happen.
I’m not blaming everything on the other side. But I am blaming what they did on them.
I agree. But Republicans have also been very divisive. Trump is a lot of things but he is not a uniter.
Btw, I believe Obama and Trump are not the disease, they are merely a side effect. It's our fault.
One believes in decency and human rights. The other not so much. I’ll let you figure which ones which 😂
Is that supposed to have an obvious answer? Because neither democrats nor republicans are especially decent or worried about human rights, unless it fits their agenda.
Both sides believe they are right. I have no idea which side is the decent one.
No one’s mentioned all of the people with power and money who feel they profit from that division and actively fan the flames. 🔥💲💲💲💲
Because the separation of ideologies is greater than the Grand Canyon is wide.
Because in order to stay relevant, the two parties have to scare the population into believing that the other side is evil, scary, and will destroy our country.
And hey, it's working.
Left wants to remove a president from office because they lost an election, right resents them for it.
Actually I think it’s more along the lines of stupid assumptions, like the one you just made.
Not all the left, but the party has been openly calling for impeachment, dnc chair debate had a candidate saying it's time to impeach Trump a week into his presidency. Look at all the polls on this app alone. It's not a stupid assumption, it's true
The Media makes conservatives and Trump look like demons and makes the left turn violent
Rons for the win!
Because politics is blurry and there’s never one right answer, except everyone holds fast to the idea that their version of values and ideas is the true and only.
A divisive, hatred spewing president. Duh
Both sides love America. Both sides see America declining. Both sides blame the other for America's decline. Ironically, it is both sides love for their country that feeds their hatred of each other.
I don’t know if I agree with that. Only one side likes to kneel during the national anthem and burn flags.
And your side supports a self admitted sexual predator as our president, a verbal sexual abuser on the Supreme Court and now a pedophile candidate for Senator.
Ok but that has nothing to do with loving America
I genuflect and kneel as a sign of reverence and respect in church. Kneeling has been universally considered a sign of reverence and respect for centuries.
Oh come on. That’s pretty disingenuous.
A main part is that many people have this mentality that if you disagree with them then your evil.
It’s because conservatives make decisions based on “logic” while liberals make decisions based on “emotion”.
That’s pretty much reflective of why everyone can’t get along.
A young earth isn’t logic.
It’s also not emotional.
Hate radio, and we all watch separate propaganda news and look at separate propaganda web sites!
I think that's a good point. It's hard to keep an open view about the other side of you are constantly only hearing one side of the story.
Your right with that one. The radio and some tv news is vicious, and full of hate. It seemed to be very toxic when Obama was elected. The racist people came out of the woodwork. And it seemed that Obama couldn’t do anything right by the republicans. I have close friends and family members on both side, and when the subject of politics comes up. I make sure that we talk respectfully to one another, and if they can’t then the conversation is over.
Also other countries have been stirring the pot and were all affected by their propaganda.
Both parties want to do whats best for America. And need to get back working together. Together we rise, and divided we will fall.
