I do like a good smile, show those pearly whites but on the other hand I do not like a phony smile. Many of our politicians have smiled so much that the muscles in their face caused what seems to be facial conformities.

No, you can't tell if either one of them were feeling embarrassed by the picture. All it shows is Trump on top of the handshake. That doesn't make it "awkward".

Bower, I believe he is trying to show us to be a strong country. Democrats would criticize President Trump if he crapped gold and lowered the National debt by doing so.

I’m guessing you mean by over the top. I’ve noticed executives and businessmen of higher stature when shaking a persons hand will do this (as in striking a deal). I believe it to be the businessman inside Trump nothing more.

I don’t think that applies across cultures. Handshakes aren’t a thing in China, so our interpretation of what a handshake means is pretty meaningless.

Mr Milkdud, it is very interesting. Form President Obama tried to conform to any culture of any foreign government he visited. When visiting China I felt it was his way of showing subordinates as a visiting diplomat.

I guess it depends who had smaller hands. There was a point for Trump when he refused to shake hands as he's a tremendous germaphobe.
