The desire not to let my piece-of-shit tendencies get the better of me.

Nope. Just an overall tendency to be a lazy piece of human garbage. I fight it daily. Some might call if depression.

You are not a piece of human garbage! Stop that!

I know?
But I'm not because I have to make a conscious effort every day not to be.

You are a human being. You are valuable. You can do your part to make this world a better place. Just a smile can help people feel valued. šŸ¤—

I disagree with the premise that every person is valuable, though.

The thought of breakfast and coffee. And if I have enough time before work/have the day off, that’s followed by a good workout!

They make coffee makers with timers. My friend has one. She wakes up to it.

The cat pokes me and kneads on me until I wake up and get him fresh food and water and attention. It would be great if only he could remember to keep his claws retracted.

Ouchers! I know that cats can get quite fat. When my friend’s cat steps on my lap it hurts.

This one is a muscular 20 pound ragdoll cat. He's very strong, but he's still my baby kitten.

Mine is too old to jump up and get onto the bed so she sits in the doorway and sings to me the song of her people. Loudly. Nothing wrong with her vocal chords.

When i stay at my moms she has a huge cat that adores me... he will sleep on my belly and knead. She found him in a snow drift, ppl abandon cats there, and we think maybe his forst owner was like me. But damn when all that weight js on his leg and he pokes a boob or between ribs owww lol

snagglepuss Story Time

AJ nothing more painful than an animal stepping on your boob. Yeow!

I know that song well. My Louie is 15 years old and recently we’ve been hearing his song more and more frequently. He used to be such a quiet guy.

He isn’t so bad when he steps all over me, because he spreads his weight across some rather large feet. It doesn’t hurt so much. It’s just those pointy claws.

snagglepuss Story Time

Some guys I use to work with had a 30lb cat. When he would step on you, you knew it!

Is he more vocal because he can’t see as well?

My kitty Miss Maggie?
She has poor eyesight, arthritis, scoliosis. Spends her day sleeping on a protected heating pad on the table next to the recliner all day long. Although some days she crawls under the guest bed and snores.

Is she more vocal since her eye sight has declined?

catpillow Florida West Coast
11/09/17 2:56 pm

I love the name Miss Maggie. I find it interesting that she snores. My cat Rick snored. He’s the cat in my user profile picture. Before him, I’d never heard a cat snoring. It was the cutest little cat snore.

shygal47 Florida east coast
11/09/17 3:06 pm

Hmm - now that you mention it, yes, she does sing more now with her failing eyesight.
Snore! If she’s next to me when she starts I have to turn up the tv! I don’t wake her anymore because all four legs go flying every which way and she’s been known to fall off her table. She doesn’t find that nearly as humorous as I do.

I think that cats sing more to hear their voice to get a feel for where they are or where they are going. Like a survival technique. Just my theory.
