Is the media/democrat obsession with Russia (a declining regional power with a smaller economy than California) over alleged events which didn't change a single vote damaging to the US?

Was the Republican obsession with Benghazi harmful to the US? Three separate investigations found nothing yet false allegations and made up events continued to attack the Obama administration. Now it appears there was indeed collusion with Russians to undermine our political process and you think it’s no big deal and harmful to investigate? Hypocrisy much?

I wouldn’t classify Russia as a “declining regional power”. They are neither regional nor declining, not for the last 10 years.

The media ignored that threat of Russia in 2012, after Romney spoke about it. But now that it’s convenient it’s all over the news.

Russian economy is greatly overstated, they pale in comparison to the ignored threats like china, its 1/15 the GDP of the US. Russia takes advantage of weak leaders like Obama in Ukraine and in Syria, but their military is still weak. The media and democrats are elevating Putin for short sighted political points. Poll inspired by a widely respected economist doing a double take when discussing Asia, I expect that the narrative will flip very soon

There was actually a plan that was proposed during the soviet era that involved faking a collapse of the USSR and allowing the US to defeat itself. I'm not saying that this happened, but it's interesting to think about especially lately.
